Film and TV Studio Planned for Slovakia

    BRATISLAVA: A Slovak producer and businessman is in the final stage of preparing to construct a multimedia complex housing a film and TV studio.

    Marek Veselický, producer of Meeting the Enemy (2007) and the upcoming coproduction The Last of Aporver. through his company farbyka, is building the center through his company Solid Enterprise.

    Construction on the 60m EUR complex located outside Bratislava, 50 km from Vienna and highway accessible to both Hungary and the Czech Republic, should begin in 2014 and be completed in 2016. Three film and TV studios, a storage house, a costumes´ production hall, datacenter, work offices and cinema theater with 500 seats will be build on 64 square meters. The center will also provide space for congresses and events. There are also plans for a relaxation and creative center and a university specializing in post-production fields including editing, sound, motion capture, 3D-2D graphics and special effects. The center will be financed by foreign investors working in IT and the film industry,. It is expect to provide between 200 to 500 jobs.

    The functional and flexible creative center will provide support for domestic and foreign film projects, the creative industries and education in the latest film industry technology. Solid Enterprise intends to enhance the local film industry and international cross-border movement and cooperation, through the advantage of its strategic central location.
