ZLARIN: The Croatian island of Zlarin and the nearby Blitvenica lighthouse have become the backdrop for Bumblebee’s Flight / Bumbarov let, a children’s adventure film directed by Daniel Kušan. The film is produced by Croatia’s Interfilm in coproduction with Serbia’s Zillion Film and North Macedonia’s Krug Film.

BUDAPEST: Hungarian director Ádám Freund, whose surreal family sci fi Earthly People / Földiek (2017) was nominated for the Student Academy Award, is currently shooting his debut feature, Hyenas / Hiénák.

LJUBLJANA: Slovenian director Jan Cvitkovič started shooting his sixth feature film Hotel Alcohol / Hotel Alkohol on 16 September 2024. The 33-days shooting of this Slovenian/German/Croatian coproduction takes place in Idrija, Ajdovščina and in Gorizia (Italy).

BELGRADE: Young Serbian director Filip Kovačević is currently in production with his sophomore feature Absolution / Oprost, a SF adventure film shot in English. The cast is led by Dutch actor Jonas Smulders, Canadian actress Nina Kiri and Serbian actor Predrag Bjelac.

TALLINN: Estonian directors Rain Tolk and Andres Maimik are currently in postproduction with Jan Uuspõld Goes Home / Jan Uuspõld läheb koju, a comedy telling a fictitious story of the real actor and comedian Jan Uuspõld, who plays himself.

BELGRADE: Serbian director David Jovanović (born in 1996) is in postproduction with his sophomore feature Sun Never Again / Sunce nikad više, which is supported by Film Center Serbia.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Jana Bučka Kovalčíková is finishing production on her documentary Milota, which tells the story of the renowned Slovak photographer Milota Havránková. The Slovak Audiovisual Fund is supporting the project.

VILNIUS: Lithuanian director/writer Mantas Verbiejus is currently in production with his feature film Sand in Your Hair, whose development and production have been supported by the Lithuanian Film Centre.

RIGA: The acclaimed Latvian director Dāvis Sīmanis is currently in postproduction with the Latvian/Czech documentary Death of Death. Balancing an existential road film with a humorous science fiction, the doc is expected to be released in the autumn of 2024.

BELGRADE: Director Dane Komljen has wrapped the shooting of his latest feature titled Desire Lines / Linije želje. The film is done as a paneuropean coproduction from Serbia, the Netherlands, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Germany.

NICOSIA: Cypriot director/writer Paschalis Papapetrou is currently in postproduction with his documentary The History of Water in Cyprus. “Doing a documentary about water in Cyprus is not an easy task because you never know if it’s going to rain and when it’s going to rain”, says the director.

RIGA: Latvian director/writer Jānis Ābele is currently in postproduction with his documentary The Last Will, which is expected to be released in the autumn of 2024.

SOFIA: Bulgarian screenwriter/director Yordan Petkov is currently in production with his first feature film Resonance, which is a coproduction between Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. The project is supported by the Bulgarian National Film Center and has won several awards at pitching contests.

NICOSIA: Cypriot director/writer Thomas Kallis is currently in postproduction with Vassilis Michaelidis – Hidden Winds. The documentary traces the life and work of pioneering poet and painter Vassilis Michaeilidis (1849 – 1917), who is considered by many the national poet of Cyprus.

BRATISLAVA: The three-part political thriller Moloch directed by Lukáš Hanulák and produced by the Czech company Bionaut and Slovakia’s Raketa for CANAL+, is currently being shot in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine. It is the first series from Central Europe to receive support from Eurimages’ Pilot Programme for Series Coproductions.

TALLINN: Estonian director German Golub is currently in production with his debut feature Our Erika / Meie Erika. This Estonian/Lithuanian/Latvian coproduction tells the story of Olympic track cyclist Erika Salumäe, who won Estonia's first Olympic gold after the country regained its independence.
