BATUMI: Tatia Skhirtladze's The Encounter, a Georgian/Austrian/Serbian documentary about the reuniting of the winning Soviet Women’s Chess Team, started pre-shooting on 23 September 2018 in Batumi, Georgia, at this year’s World Chess Olympiad, where the women are guests of honour.

TBILISI: The Georgian director Dimitri Mamulia is in postproduction with The Criminal Man, a Georgian/Russian coproduction that he shot in Georgia after a long break.

BELGRADE: Award-winning Serbian director Srdan Golubović started shooting his third feature film Father / Otac on 24 September 2018. The project is a coproduction between Serbia, Croatia, France, Germany, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BELGRADE: The first season of the eight episode Serbian TV series Turbo is currently in development. The project created by Milica Živanović, Matthias Nerlich and Milan Stojanović won the British platform C21’s award at the MIDPOINT section of Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Drama 2018.

ZAGREB: Ulrich Edel’s historical drama The Master Butcher's Singing Club, which is currently shooting in Croatia, is the first foreign production using incentives for filming in regions of particular national interest. Pakt Media is servicing.

ZAGREB: The zombie comedy The Last Serb in Croatia / Posljednji Srbin u Hrvatskoj has entered the postproduction phase. Predrag Ličina’s debut feature is a Croatian/Serbian coproduction between Kinorama and Art & Popcorn.

SOFIA: Acclaimed Bulgarian director Ivan Nichev is in postproduction with a feature film Could You Kill aka Old Men, an alarming drama about seven impoverished 30-year-old men, getting obsessed with hard physical self-training. Their collective dream is to become contract soldiers and to take part in the NATO's military missions.

BUCHAREST: The third season of the successful TV series Shadows/Umbre will be shot in Romania this autumn and will have its premiere in all the 17 territories of HBO Europe at the same time. The six-episode series is written and will be directed by Bogdan Mirică.

TBILISI: Georgian director Otar Shamatava is in postproduction with Ursus, a Ukrainian/ Georgian/German/ Bulgarian coproduction that he shot in Georgia after a long break.

TBILISI: The acclaimed Georgian director Zaza Urushadze is currently in postproduction with his new feature film Anton, a coproduction between Georgia, the Ukraine and the USA, expected to premiere in a festival in the winter of 2018 or spring of 2019.

WARSAW: Polish box office hit writer/director Ryszard Zatorski wrapped shooting for There Is No Sin in Bad Luck / Pech to nie grzech, an independent romantic comedy starring Barbara Kurdej-Szatan.

RADOM: Polish director Jacek Gwizdała is working on a biopic project The Priest / Klecha, planned as a feature drama and a TVP three-part mini-series, and focusing on Roman Kotlarz, a priest oppressed by the Communist regime.

BELGRADE: A forty-episode TV series Morning Changes Everything is currently in production in Serbia. The first four episodes of this Serbian/Bosnian coproduction were screened within the Sarajevo Film Festival’s Avant Premiere programme last week.

WARSAW: Director/screenwriter Maciej Pieprzyca is in preparation with Ikarus. The story of Mietek Kosz, a biopic about the famous Polish pianist Mietek Kosz (1944-1973), who lost his eyesight when he was 12 and died tragically at the age of 29.

BUCHAREST: Writer/director Ioana Mischie (Fulbright Alumna, Berlinale Talents Alumna) is currently in production with Government of Children, a pioneering transmedia world reuniting a 3D state of the art feature film and an expanded webseries.

BELGRADE: Serbian documentary filmmaker Tamara von Steiner is currently in production with Road to Agartha, the first Serbian film production to be entirely shot in Vietnam. Von Steiner’s third long observational documentary is supported by Film Center Serbia.
