WARSAW: The New Horizons International Film Festival from Wrocław (Poland), Transilvania IFF from Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and Vilnius IFF Kino Pavasaris from Vilnius (Lithuania) have launched the cooperation network SMART7 together with IndieLisboa IFF, FILMADRID IFF and Thessaloniki IFF.

BERLIN: The digitally restored version in 4K of György Fehér’s Twilight will have its world premiere in the Berlinale Classics section at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival (16 -26 February 2022). Věra Chytilová’s Daisies and The Beauty by Arūnas Žebriūnas were included in the Retrospective “Young at Heart – Coming of Age at the Movies”. Four more FNE partner countries selections are in the Berlinale Co-production Market.

VALLETTA: The Malta Film Commission has launched the Creative Malta film fund, which will offer 600,000 EUR annually for local film production.

VALLETTA: The Finance Ministry of Cyprus has earmarked 5 m EUR for the country's incentives scheme. This is ten times more than in the past three years.

BRATISLAVA: Short films from Slovakia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary are welcome to apply for the 2023 edition of the International Film Festival Febiofest Bratislava. The deadline for applications is 15 January 2023.

ZAGREB: Cricket & Antoinette directed by Luka Rukavina hit Croatian cinemas on 5 January 2023. The first Croatian 3D long animated film is a coproduction between Diedra Studio and Zagreb Film.

LOS ANGELES: Jerzy Skolimowski’s EO has been included in the International Feature Film shortlist, while Sierra by Sander Joon and Steakhouse by Špela Čadež have been included in the Animated Short Film shortlist at the 2023 Oscars.
