BERLIN: European cinema has been celebrated in 35 cinemas across Europe during four weeks. The first edition of the Month of European Film met with often packed and sometimes sold out screenings.

Press releases 14-12-2022After four weeks of celebrating the great diversity of European film, the newly introduced Month of European Film came to an end at last Saturday’s dazzling celebration of the European Film Awards in Reykjavík. Across Europe, thanks to the Academy’s partner Europa Cinemas, flagship cinemas in 35 countries participated.
VILNIUS: Lithuania’s LRT PLIUS and Latvia’s LTV have launched a collaboration, and their cultural programmes Culture Day (Kultūros diena) and Culture News (Kultūras zinas) respectively will exchange stories every two weeks. TVP might join the project as LRT is currently in talks with the Polish public broadcaster.
PODGORICA: Ivan Salatić is in development with his sophomore feature Melting of the Ruler / Otapanje vladara, for which it received coproduction support from Eurimages on 5 December 2022.

WARSAW: Acclaimed Polish veteran actor Jan Nowicki passed away at 83.
BUDAPEST: The largest state-funded studio development of all time supported by the National Film Institute – Hungary (NFI) and consisting of four new studios and service facilities, is currently under construction in Fót, a film production base operating since the 70s. The construction started in 2021 and is set to wrap by the first half of 2024.
