BERLIN: Six films from FNE partner countries are among the ten titles of the European Film Awards 2022 Feature Film Selection – Part 1 announced by the European Film Academy. The European Film Awards gala 2022 will be held in Reykjavík, Iceland on 10 December.

PRAGUE: Czech Republic has approved a cap of 6 m EUR / 150 m CZK per project per year for the applications for film incentives. The decision was made as the demands of the producers are high.

WARSAW: Polish channel Polsat is in preparation with Sługa Narodu, a local remake after the Ukrainian series Servant of the People starring the Ukrainian then president to be, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The series is directed by Maciej Bieliński.

Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, the busy business platform in the region for audiovisual industry professionals, welcomes participants for its main programme in Tallinn from 20 to 25 November 2022. The programme of the five-day summit is also partly accessible online. Early bird prices of the accreditations are valid until 15 September.

WARSAW: Polish Television (TVP) is launching the first edition of Co-production Forum, which will take place in Warsaw within the 2nd edition of the Heart of Europe International TV Festival (14 – 17 November 2022).

TALLINN: Melchior the Apothecary: The Ghost by Elmo Nüganen, the second instalment in the trilogy based on the medieval crime bestsellers by Estonian writer Indrek Hargla, will be theatrically released in Estonia on 19 August 2022. With the first instalment released on 15 April 2022 and the final, Melchior the Apothecary: The Executioner's Daughter, to be released on 14 October 2022, this is the first time when a domestic trilogy is entirely released in Estonia in a single year.

BELGRADE: Serbian sci-fi mystery/coming-of-age drama series Block 27 directed by Momir Milosević and Milic Tomović, and Czech/Slovak crime drama series Ultimatum directed by Michal Kollar, have been picked-up by Beta Film.

PRAGUE: The fourth season of Sky series Das Boot directed by Dennis Gansel is currently shooting in Czech Republic’s capital with Stillking Films providing services.

JIHLAVA: Producers from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia are among the 17 participants selected as Emerging Producers 2023. The programme organised by the Ji.hlava IDFF consists of two workshops taking place in Jihlava in October 2022 and during the Berlinale in 2023.

SARAJEVO: The Ukrainian project Dad’s Lullaby by Lesia Diak received the Docu Talent Award at the Docu Talents from the East 2022, organised by the Ji.hlava IDFF and the Sarajevo FF, and presented during CineLink Industry Days on 15 August 2022. Between Revolutions (Romania, Croatia, Iran, Qatar) by the Romanian director Vlad Petri received the DAFilms.com Distribution Award.
