COTTBUS: The 33rd edition of FilmFestival Cottbus will present the latest and best 150 Eastern European films from 7 to 12 November 2023. Accreditations are open and include a great offer for students.
Dear friends of the FFC, not long now - 9 more weeks, then it's that time again: we show the latest and best from the Eastern European film world! 150 extraordinary, unknown and exciting films will be shown in our cinemas from November 7 to 12. We are already looking forward to numerous guests who will make Cottbus even more international.

Films from FNE Partner Countries in European Film Awards’ Documentary Film Selection 2023
Region 31-08-2023BERLIN: Five documentaries from FNE partner countries are among the 14 long documentaries picked by the European Film Academy for the Documentary Film Selection of the European Film Awards 2023.
WARSAW: The 15th edition of the Solanin Film Festival was dominated by Munk Studio's productions made as part of the First Documentary and Thirty Minutes programmes, addressed to young artists.
The Ministry of Culture of Kanton Sarajevo announced the following grants on 10 August 2023.
PRAGUE: Czech location managers Petr Růčka, Marek Řídel and Jan Ondrovčák from Film Makers s.r.o received the award for Outstanding Locations in a Period Feature Film for Edward Berger’s All Quiet on the Western Front at the 10th Location Managers Guild International awards. The event was held in Santa Monica, USA, on 26 August 2023.
FESTIVALS: The 30th Anniversary Edition of Astra Film Festival Announces Selection
Romania 29-08-2023SIBIU: Over 130 films from more than 40 countries have been selected for the 30th edition of Astra Film Festival, which will be held in Sibiu, Romania 15 – 22 October 2023. From these 130 films, 43 will screen in the four competition sections of the festival: New Voices of the Documentary, Central and Eastern Europe, Romania and DocSchool.
PRAGUE: The Czech comedy ONEMANSHOW – The Movie by Kamil Bartošek and Ondřej Pavliš had 291,761 admissions and 2.24 m EUR / 54,160,085 CZK gross in its opening weekend in domestic cinemas. The previous record from a Czech film was held by the Christmas comedy God´s Angel 2 / Anděl Páně 2 by Jiří Strach, produced by Marlene Film Production, which had over 188,000 admissions in December 2016.
Film Center Serbia announced the following grants on 14 August 2023.
