CANNES: The new Board of Directors of the European Film Promotion (EFP) was elected by EFP’s General Assembly at its meeting during the Cannes Film Festival. Markéta Santrochová, Head of Czech Film Center, was re-elected as EFP President.

BUDAPEST: Applications for the Visegrad coproduction forum and the Open programme of dok.incubator HU are still open till 26 May and 5 June 2023, respectively. dok.incubator HU will be held in Budapest 25 June – 2 July 2023.

The announcement was made at the Cannes Film Festival on 19 May 2023.

VALLETTA: Nine films from each of MED9 nations, including Carmen by Valerie Buhagiar, DOG by Yianna Americanou, Safe Place by Juraj Lerotić and Orchestra by Matevž Luzar, are in the Official Selection of the 1st edition of the Mediterrane Film Festival, running in Valletta 25-30 June 2023.

FNE has teamed up with FIPRESCI critics attending the Cannes Film Festival to rate the films in the Main Competition, Un Certain Regard, Directors' Fortnight and Critics Week, giving the films 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars. 5 is the best and 1 is the worst. The ratings give an overview of critics’ opinions from a large number of countries and provide insights into what critics in many different countries think about the programme. FNE will be publishing updates each day from today until the end of the festival.
