BUDAPEST: The largest state-funded studio development of all time supported by the National Film Institute – Hungary (NFI) and consisting of four new studios and service facilities, is currently under construction in Fót, a film production base operating since the 70s. The construction started in 2021 and is set to wrap by the first half of 2024.

PRAGUE: Nine short animated films from Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland and Slovenia have been selected for the CEE Animation Talents 2022.

ZAGREB: Directors and producers with projects in development and production are called to apply to the five-day programme ZagrebDox Pro, set to take place 27 – 31 March 2023 within the ZagrebDox International Documentary Film Festival (26 March – 2 April 2023).

ZAGREBDOX PRO is a five-day program (March 27 to 31, 2023) that brings together documentary filmmakers in pursuit of excellence through analysis of their submitted projects, along with recommendations and suggestions for their further development. Additionally, the program offers one-year online mentoring, case studies, group and individual discussions, masterclass lectures, special film screenings and round tables.

TALLINN: Viaplay’s TV series Bullshit, produced by Nordisk Film Creative Alliance from Denmark in partnership with Estonia’s Nafta Film will have its premiere in 2023. The series is supported by Film Estonia’s cash rebate.

The results of the third Eurimages Project Evaluation Session of 2022 have just been announced. Further to recommendations made by independent experts meeting online, the Executive Committee of the Fund has decided to support 24 feature films, including 4 documentary and 3 animation features, for a total amount of €6.707.000.

STRASBOURG: Eleven majority and minority coproductions from FNE partner countries are among the 24 projects receiving Eurimages coproduction support on 5 December 2022.

BERLIN: Creative Europa - MEDIA has withdrawn its support for the international training course of the International Arthouse Cinema Association (CICAE) for 2023 – 2025, thus making it impossible to continue.

BELGRADE: The Serbian/Croatian coproduction Have You Seen This Woman? directed by Dušan Zorić and Matija Gluscevic won Best Film Award at the 28th edition of the Auteur Film Festival, held in Belgrade 25 November – 2 December 2022.

LJUBLJANA: Estonian Sander Joon’s short animated film Sierra was awarded the Jury Grand Prix as well as the Audience Award at the 19th edition of Animateka Animated International Film Festival, which took place in Ljubljana 28 November – 4 December 2022.
