ZAGREB: The Croatian/Serbian comedy The Wedding / Svadba directed by Igor Šeregi gathered 374,213 admissions in its first 12 days of release, becoming the most-watched Croatian film in history, and the second most-watched film in Croatian cinemas, after James Cameron’s Titanic (1997).

BUDAPEST: The new English language film by Hungarian helmer Kornel Mundruczó, At the Sea, was acquired by Paris-based MK2 Films ahead of its world premiere in the main competition of the 76th Berlin International Film Festival (12 – 22 February 2026). The film’s U.S. rights are represented by WME Independent.

PRAGUE: Emerging European talents with animated short projects are invited to apply to Rise & Shine, the animation development and pitching lab organised by Animafest Zagreb in collaboration with Animateka International Animated Film Festival and CEE Animation.

TRIESTE: Six projects, selected out of 27 applications, received 10,000 EUR each for their coproduction development at the 11th edition of RE-ACT (Regional Audiovisual Cooperation and Training).

PARK CITY: To Hold a Mountain by Biljana Tutorov and Petar Glomazić won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival held 22 January – 1 February in Park City, Utah, U.S. The film is a coproduction between Serbia, France, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Croatia.

BELGRADE/PODGORICA: Sundance Film Festival’s World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Documentary went to Biljana Tutorov and Petar Glomazić’ To Hold a Mountain, where a mother and daughter defend their mountain and nomadic herding tradition from the formation of a NATO military training ground. The film itself is a labour of love and solidarity, being made as a coproduction between Serbia, France, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Croatia.

BUCHAREST: The new feature film by Romanian director Tudor Cristian Jurgiu, On Our Own / De capul nostru, has been picked up by Italy’s sales agent True Colours ahead of its world premiere in the Forum section of the 76th Berlin International Film Festival (12 – 22 February 2026).

PRAGUE: A total of 21 projects have been selected for the 25th edition of East Doc Forum, which will be held at the French Institute in Prague on 24 March 2026, during the East Doc Platform.

Teams from the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, the Youth and Children’s Film Festival Just Film, and Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event will attend the 74th Berlin International Film Festival and the European Film Market.
