RIGA: Focal Production Value has launched the call for applications for its 16th edition that will take place in Riga 7 – 15 January 2023. The deadline is 15 November 2022 for junior assistant directors and junior line producers and 20 November 2022 for producers with a feature film or limited series project.
PRODUCTION VALUE is a workshop on scheduling and budgeting ambitious European feature films and limited series with budgets ranging from 3 to over 15 million.
BUDAPEST: Dániel Hevér is currently in production with his first feature film, Some Birds / Valami madarak. The project was prepared in the Incubator Programme of the National Film Institute – Hungary and won best development award at MIDPOINT 2019.
TRIESTE: Film projects in editing from Croatia, Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Serbia and Slovenia can apply to First Cut Lab RE-ACT till 15 October 2022. For the first time this year, the four selected feature films will be automatically selected for the First Cut+ Trieste programme.
PRAGUE: Hungary, Czech Republic and Poland are among the countries with the most projects selected for the 10th edition of the CEE Animation Forum, which will be held in a hybrid format 2 – 4 November 2022.
WARSAW: Sixteen filmmakers will be selected to develop their first, sophomore or third feature film at the Less Is More (LIM) programme 2023. The deadline for applications has been extended until 17 October 2022.
European animation is on the rise, as evidenced by the growing number of applications to the leading pitching event - CEE Animation Forum. The tenth jubilee year will take place in a hybrid format over the new dates of 2nd to 4th November 2022 and will showcase 49 animated projects of all formats in four categories - feature films, series/TV specials, short and student films.
BUCHAREST: Paul Negoescu is currently filming a sequel to his domestic BO hit Two Lottery Tickets / Două lozuri. Produced again independently by Actoriedefilm.ro, Three Lottery Tickets / Trei lozuri (working title) has its premiere loosely set for the autumn of 2023.
BUCHAREST: The Romanian Government has approved a memorandum of the Ministry of Culture for allotting approximately 28 m EUR / 140 m RON to the cultural independent sector, including cinema, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
VILNIUS: The anniversary 10th edition of the Baltic Pitching Forum showcased 12 projects from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and this year’s guest country Norway, from 5 to 8 October 2022.
