This section of the 17th International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography PLUS CAMERIMAGE will present recent Polish film productions selected from all the entries submitted this year. During the Festival, they will be judged by the members of the international Jury comprising internationally acclaimed film professionals. The cinematographer and director of the best movie will be awarded at the Closing Ceremony.

Jihlava IDFF 2009 starts on October 27

The 25th Warsaw Film Festival ended on Sunday, 18 October.

The film for the WFF's closing, screened in the 777-seat room 1 of Multikino Złote Tarasy, was the Polish production Zero directed by Paweł Borowski. The director came to the screening straight from the Pusan film festival where his film had taken part in the newly established Flash Forward competition.

"Go get some rosemary!" may well become a new motto for all who have watched the film Go Get Some Rosemary in Kaunas International Film Festival. With this phrase, the authors of the film Benny and Josh Safdies expressed the tiny boundary between the state of happiness and the state of sadness. You go to get some rosemary from the store and something may change, your sadness and loneliness may be replaced by new ideas, your problems may seem ridiculous and you may be overwhelmed with joy.

Great stories, special effects, and even Twitter have an effect in determining the winners at Filminute, the international one-minute film festival.

When the Pusan International Film Festival (October 8 - 16, 2009) lights its screens for 355 films from across the globe, a sizeable European artistic delegation is among the guests presenting their films. Backed by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union, European Film Promotion (EFP) is supporting the European film presence in Pusan for the 12th year running and is bringing a delegation of 23 directors and actors from 13 different countries to this important Asian festival. Moreover, with EFP's backing, eight European directors will present their films in the newly created Flash Forward Competition focussed on non-Asian directors.

After the screening of the film Bouzkachi: The Chant of Steppes on Saturday night, viewers of Kaunas International Film Festival had an opportunity to meet and talk with the artist Stasys Eidrigevičius. He said he was very happy to meet the Lithuanian audience and introduce the film in which he played.

We are happy to inform you that 4^th Bursa International Silk Road Film Festival will be held between 14th-22th November, 2009 in the beautiful and historic city of Bursa, a unique metropolis nearby Istanbul that has managed to preserve its culture through time.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the list of eight semi-finalists in the Documentary Short Subject category for the 2010 Academy Awards. Three to five of those shorts will end up with Oscar nominations. Short documentary Rabbit à la Berlin by Bartek Konopka and Piotr Rosolowski is among the eight selected films. The Documentary was developed at Ex Oriente Film 2005 and producer Anna Wydra will hold the film´s case study at this year's East European Forum. Congratulations!
