WIESBADEN: Lithuanian film Remember to Blink / Per arti directed by Austėja Urbaitė received the Golden Lily for Best Film at the 23rd edition of the GoEast, the Festival of Central and Eastern European Film, which took place 26 April - 2 May 2023 in Wiesbaden and the surrounding region.

SIBIU: The Czech/Polish documentary Forest by Lidia Duda received the award for Best Film in the Central and Eastern Europe section, while Rising up at Night by Nelson Makengo was awarded Best Film in the Emerging Voices in Documentary competition at the 31st International Documentary Festival Astra Film, held in Sibiu 20 – 27 October 2024.

TALLINN: Ten world premieres from around the globe, selected by a team headed by Nikolaj Nikitin, will screen in the Critics Picks Competition at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF, 8 – 24 November 2024).

Riga International Film festival (RIGA IFF), delighting the senses of filmgoers in more than 100 screenings from 17 to 27 October, announces competition winners during RIGA IFF AWARDS. In four competition programmes and two RIGA IFF FORUM sections for industry professionals, juries – international and local experts –, judged 84 works competing for festival awards and special prizes from RIGA IFF partners. RIGA IFF will continue until the evening of Sunday, 27 October, in cinemas Splendid Palace, Forum Cinemas, as well as online, allowing the spectators to relish in exquisite film adventures.

The fourth edition of “Series Rough Pitch – The Balkan Way” will kick off online, 30/10/24 at 12 (CET).

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) reveals the selection for the Rebels with a Cause competition. The side-competition, dedicated to films that push the boundaries of cinematic art, contains 6 world premieres and 4 international premieres. 

BUCHAREST: Bogdan Mureșanu’s debut feature The New Year That Never Came / Anul Nou care n-a fost, has been sold by Cercamon to Imagine in Benelux and Flamingo in Spain.
