BRATISLAVA: The Slovak/Czech historical drama The Chambermaid / Slúžka by the Slovak director Mariana Čengel Solčanská has been picked-up by Picture Tree International (PTI).
FESTIVALS: Romanian Producer Ada Solomon Receives APA Excellence Award at Ji.hlava 2022
Czech Republic 27-10-2022JIHLAVA: Romanian producer Ada Solomon received the APA World Excellence Award at the 26th Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, which started on 25 October 2022.
The 26th Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival has been officially launched and its opening evening featured the presentation of the first festival awards. The best Short Joy section film is selected by the online viewers of DAFilms.com, this year going to Blue Bed by Belgian director Lize Cuveele. This year, Ji.hlava presents almost four hundred films and the festival will continue until October 30.
WARSAW: Pawel Pawlikowski's new film, The Island (working title), will star Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara, and it will be a British/Italian/Polish coproduction with Ewa Puszczynska coproducing through Extreme Emotions.
TALLINN: The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) announced the 15 films selected for the Baltic Competition. The festival will be held 11 – 27 November 2022.
