BERLIN: The International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas (CICAE) is launching a brand new six-month mentoring programme for senior exhibitors starting April 2022. Exhibitors and programmers of independent cinema theatres worldwide are invited to apply till 31 March 2022.

SIBIU: The website of Astra Film Festival has been targeted by hackers who collected registration fees of approximately 2,000 EUR from over 100 film directors from 26 countries through a fake account opened on the FilmFreeway platform.

As an extension to its successful Arthouse Cinema Training programme for aspiring cinema exhibitors, CICAE, the International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas, is launching a brand new 6-month mentoring program for senior exhibitors starting this April. Aimed to strengthen the position of arthouse cinemas and their managers, as well as to offer them a space where they can reflect, share their experiences and discover new opportunities in their industry, it is the only international programme specifically dedicated to mentoring arthouse and independent cinema professionals from all over the world.

WARSAW: Infinite Storm, the first American film by Małgorzata Szumowska, opened on 1,500 screens in the USA on 25 March 2022. This is the first Polish film in years to get such a wide American release. The film starring Naomi Watts is coproduced by the Polish ORKA Production Studio.

On 25th March, the latest ORKA Production Studio co-production titled “Infinite Storm” will open on 1500 screens in the US. The film stars two-time Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts.

On 29 January 2022, the Croatian Audiovisual Centre awarded a total of 2,297,100 EUR / 17,670,000 HRK for the production of 31 films under the 2021 grant application deadlines.

ZAGREB: The 18th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival ZagrebDOX will screen 86 films in 11 sections at the Kaptol Boutique Cinema in Zagreb from 3 to 10 April 2022.

VALLETTA: The Government of Malta has recently upgraded the cash rebates for filmmakers, making the financial guidelines more attractive to the film industry. Productions which satisfy the cultural test can benefit from a rebate of up to 40% of eligible expenditure.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Transilvania Pitch Stop, the coproduction platform of the Transilvania IFF (TIFF), has opened the call for applications for its 2022 edition announced for 23-25 June. The deadline is 10 April 2022.
