The third major international film festival of the fall season after Venice and Toronto,the highly anticipated San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF) will take place in the Spanish city from September 19 to 27. Three French films, directed by Claire Denis, Alice Winocour, and Arnaud Desplechin, are in Competition. Juliette Binoche has been invited to present, Out of Competition, her first documentary as a director.
RIGA: Nine titles from Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Ukraine, and Sweden have been chosen for the Feature Film Competition of the upcoming Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF, 16 – 26 October 2025).
BUCHAREST: The 21st Bucharest International Film Festival (BIFF, 19 – 28 September 2025) is launching an international short film competition alongside its traditional feature film competition, and welcomes renown guests such as Sergei Loznitsa and Nadav Lapid.

The film is a coproduction between the USA, UK, and North Macedonia.

TALLINN: The Estonian Film Institute has selected the long animated film Long Papers / Pikad paberid by Meel Paliale as Estonia’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.
ZAGREB: The Croatian Society of Film Workers has selected the documentary Fiume o morte! by Igor Bezinović as Croatia’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category. The film is a coproduction between Croatia, Italy and Slovenia.
