LJUBLJANA: The docu-fiction Houston, We Have a Problem! by Žiga Virc is Slovenia‘s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 89th Academy Awards. The film is a Slovenian/Croatian/German coproduction.

TALLINN: Zero Point by Estonian director Mihkel Ulk will be released in Autumn 2016 by VoD distributor Under the Milky Way in all territories of the European Union, subtitled in 24 official languages through the Creative Europe supported Working (Sub) Title action.

COTTBUS: Ten projects selected from a record number of submissions will vie for the top spot at the East-West co-production market at the FilmFestival Cottbus on 10-11 November 2016. The selection was made from among over 120 submissions from 35 countries.

At the Oldenburg International Film Festival in Germany, the European Film Academy has announced this year’s nominations for the EUROPEAN DISCOVERY – Prix FIPRESCI, an award presented annually in co-operation with the international federation of film critics to a young and upcoming director for a first full-length feature film.

TALLINN: Kadri Kõusaar’s Mother will be Estonia‘s entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards. The film was selected by a selection committee gathered by the Estonian Film Institute.

This year, from 8 to 13 November, the FilmFestival Cottbus will bring the world of Eastern European film to Cottbus for the 26th time.
