JIHLAVA: Producers from the European Union, its Eastern neighbourhood and the Balkan region have a few days to finalise their submissions to the 5th edition of the Emerging Producers 2017 programme, as the deadline is 31 March 2016.

FNE asked Mira Staleva how bringing Europe’s most important film organisations together in Sofia was helping to create a better understanding of the challenges facing the film industry in Central and Eastern Europe.

Rich programme of the 23rd International Film Clubs Festival Febiofestincludes competition of short films from the countries of Visegrad Group (Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland) and Austria as a guest country. Slovak cinema is represented at the Febiofest by recent films, and archive films from the Slovak Film Institute, e.g. the digitally restored films by Slovak director Dušan Trančík: Photographing the House Dwellers, The Gallows, and Commemoration.

Pavo Marinković participated in the 8th edition (2013-2014) of ScripTeast with the project Ministry of Love / Ministarstvo ljubavi, a dramatic comedy inspired by the Croatian Family Law, which he later directed.
