PRAGUE: The venerated human rights film fest One World, running 3-12 March, has announced a program of provocative films that examine the true costs of work on ordinary people's lives. Its focus sections also examine issues including the right to know, endangered families, journeys to freedom and the power of the media.
BRATISLAVA: The Visegrad Film Forum, set for 11-13 March, has announced it will host Austrian cinematographer Christian Berger, who filled Michael Haneke's The White Ribbon (2009) for a day-long lecture.

ISTANBUL - New Zealand-born actor Russell Crowe is moving into the director's seat for the first time for father-son war drama. The Water Diviner will begin shooting 26 February, adding locations here to scenes already filmed in Australia.

Krakow, 21st February 2014 - Bogdan Dziworski, a distinguished Polish cameraman, professor of cinematic art and photography, will receive the Dragon of Dragons award for his entire artistic output at the 54th Krakow Film Festival, which takes place from 25th May to 1st June.
The Georgian National Film Centre announced the results of the first round of the competition for funding of European coproductions with Georgian participation. The announcement was made in February 2014.
