From Indonesia to Bangladesh, from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, across Europe and to the United States, Canada and South America, on sunday the 10th European Arthouse Cinema Day united more than 600 movie theatres in 45 countries and more than 90.000 visitors for its most international edition to date. 130 years after the inception of cinema, the success of European Arthouse Cinema Day once again showcases the remarkable energy, reach, and collaborative spirit of the global arthouse movement. 

BERLIN: The European Arthouse Cinema Day was celebrated on 23 November 2025 in 650 cinemas and film-cultural venues in more than 46 countries across the globe.

PRAGUE: The 28th edition of the French Film Festival in the Czech Republic, an event co-organised by the Institut Français in Prague and Unifrance, is attended by several French talents.

For the first time in the history of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, the winner of both the Grand Prix and the Audience Award is the same film – The Good Daughter, directed by Spanish filmmaker Júlia de Paz Solvas.

On the evening of 21 November 2025  at the closing ceremony of the Black Nights Film festival at the Alexela Concert Hall, the jurys announced the films deemed the best, including the winning films of the 25th Youth and Children's Film Festival Just Film.

On November 21, the 24th Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event presented its awards at a joint closing ceremony with the Black Nights Film Festival. In total, 15 awards were given to film projects in various stages of scriptwriting, development, or post-production, along with two additional awards recognizing promising producers. Awards were also presented to the talents participating in Discovery Campus.

On European Arthouse Cinema Day, 23 November 2025, 650 cinemas and film-cultural venues in more than 46 countries across the globe will join hands to take a stand for democracy, cultural diversity, and dialogue across borders and cultures.

VILNIUS: Greek Kyuka: Before Summer’s End by Kostis Charamountanis received the award for best feature film at the European Film Festival Scanorama, which wraps in Vilnius on 23 November 2025.

VILNIUS: Lithuania will be Country in Focus at the 10th ShorTO Film Market, taking place during the TFI Torino Film Industry on 24 – 25 November 2025.
