PRAGUE: Karlovy Vary IFF 54½, a special edition of the 54th edition of the festival which didn't take place, has also been cancelled. The mini-festival was originally scheduled for 18 – 21 November 2020.

BUCHAREST: The Greek/French/Romanian coproduction Broadway directed by Christos Massalas completed filming on 2 November 2020. This debut feature coproduced by Romania's Digital Cube participated in the 2019 Cannes Cinéfondation  L'Atelier.

COTTBUS: The Croatian/Serbian project Closed to the Public, directed by Vanja Juranic and produced by Damir Teresak for Croatia’s Maxima Film and Nikolina Vucetic-Zecevic for Serbia’s Biberche, was pitched at the 2020 online edition of connecting cottbus, running 4-6 November 2020.

COTTBUS: The Slovak project Flood directed by Martin Gonda and produced by Katarina Krnacova and Tomas Gic for Silverart was pitched at the 2020 online edition of connecting cottbus, running 4-6 November 2020.

COTTBUS: The Bulgarian project Fortune Teller directed by Svetla Tsotsorkova and produced by Svetoslav Ovcharov for Omega Films, was pitched at the 2020 online edition of connecting cottbus, running 4-6 November 2020.

COTTBUS: The Croatian project Honey Bunny directed by Igor Jelinovic and produced by Rea Racic for Eclectica was pitched at the 2020 online edition of connecting cottbus, running 4-6 November 2020.

The following production grants were announced by the National Film Institute - Hungary (NFI) on 6 October 2020

Brussels: 3 November 2020 Following recent decisions requiring the closure of cinemas across a number of European countries in response to ‘spikes’ in COVID-19, European trade body the International Union of Cinemas (UNIC) has today renewed its call to national governments, the European Commission and the European Parliament to provide further public funding support to the sector to ensure that cinemas are able to survive the ongoing challenges presented by the COVID-19 crisis.
