POTSDAM: How a master's programme in film business and law gave an experienced Estonian producer the framework - and the trigger -to build a sustainability infrastructure startup for the European audiovisual industry.

BUDAPEST: On 8–9 May 2026, Budapest will host the first edition of Eurocine Budapest, a new international trade exhibition and professional event dedicated to the world of filmmaking. Taking place at Hungexpo, the event is set to become a major new meeting point for the film industry in Hungary and across the wider Central and Eastern European region.

BUDAPEST: The National Film Institute – Hungary (NFI), the organiser of the Hungarian Film Day, has decided to expand the event into a week-long series of events to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Hungarian cinema and to promote it among a wider audience.

BERLIN: Organised by CICAE, the Arthouse Cinema Training is the world’s only international programme fully dedicated to independent and arthouse cinema exhibition. Over one intensive week in Berlin, participants gain practical tools, strategic insights, and international connections to strengthen and future-proof their cinemas.

VIENNA: Applications are now open for the Sustainability Management Programme which takes place at the International Screen Institute in Vienna in September. The deadline to signup is 18 May 2026.

ZAGREB: Croatia recorded a total of 1,577,352 admissions from 1 January to 1 April 2026, marking the most successful start to the year in the history of Croatian cinemas. Of these, as much as 856,614 were admissions for domestic films, resulting in a share of 54.31% of the total audience.

BUCHAREST: The 6th edition of the Film O'Clock International Festival will take place 16 – 19 April 2026 in 12 European and African countries: Serbia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, Ukraine, Moldova, Greece, Egypt, and South Africa.

ZAGREB: Croatia will host the production of a foreign historical TV series, whose title has not been revealed, but for which casting is now underway for a large number of extras.
