TALLINN: Edith Sepp will start her third term as head of the Estonian Film Institute (EFI) in 2023, the board of EFI has announced.

TALLINN: Thirteen projects by mostly award-winning filmmakers were selected for the Baltic Event Co-Production Market 2022, set to take place 23 - 24 November 2022 within the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (11 – 27 November 2022).

The official selection of the Baltic Event Co-Production Market 2022, taking place on 23-24 November showcases a solid state by mostly award-winning filmmakers on topics ranging from personal tragedies and social issues to past and present military conflicts.

PRAGUE: Popular theatre and film actor Josef Somr died at the age of 88. His most known films are Jiří Menzel's Oscar-winning Closely Watched Trains / Ostre sledované vlaky (1966) and Jaromil Jireš’s The Joke / Zert (1969).

WARSAW: One of the oldest surviving Polish sound films, Janko the Musician (1930) directed by Ryszard Ordyński, will screen at the Iluzjon Cinema in Warsaw on 26 October 2022. The screening of the film restored by the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute (FINA) is part of the 3rd edition of “A Season of Classic Films”, an event organised by the Association des Cinémathèques Européennes (ACE).
