LIMASSOL: The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC) is extending its application deadline.

The Croatian documentary Srbenka has its online premiere on KineDoc.

The XIV Krzysztof Kieślowski ScripTeast Award for the Best Script from Eastern Europe went to the multiple-award-winning Polish screenwriter and director, Maciej Sobieszczański and co-writer Grzegorz Puda for the script entitled BROTHER.

As the Lithuanian Government continues to ease the quarantine restrictions, the borders of Lithuania are slowly opening up. From 15th May, by general decision residents of the Baltic states can move freely from one state to another. Thus, individuals who have arrived in Lithuania from Estonia or Latvia, do not have to self-isolate for 14 days. From 13th May, Vilnius International Airport has begun partial operations again. Presently regular flights are going to Frankfurt and Riga airports, from 25th May there will be daily flights to Tallinn and regular flights will be renewed from Vilnius to Norway as well. The Government continues considering the possibility of opening the borders with other neighbouring countries. As of 18th May, cafés, bars, gyms, and nurseries have reopened in the country. Due to reducing number of coronavirus infections, the Government has given permission to continue film production that was suspended on 16th March due to implementation of quarantine. The Ministry of Health (Lith. SAM) have prepared recommendations, which instruct on how to safely conduct filming and other related activities.

BUCHAREST: The Romanian Parliament has approved easing the lockdown downgrading the previous state of emergency to a state of alert for 30 days while forbidding drive-in events. The Parliament's decision came as a surprise, because on 13 May the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) had announced the procedure for obtaining a license for drive-in events including cinemas and live concerts.

BUCHAREST: The awarded Romanian documentary filmmaker Andrei Dăscălescu is completing production on his new project. Videograms of a Pandemic / Videograme dintr-o pandemie, which is documenting the life of people during the COVID-19 isolation through video-diaries, will be a long documentary or a mini-series, depending on finding an investor.

VILNIUS: The 8th Baltic Pitching Forum announced its call for short film projects, which will be accepted until 2 August 2020. The forum will take place 8 to 10 October in Vilnius. Projects from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, along with this year’s guest country Poland, are eligible.

TETA has opened applications for the 6th edition of Pustnik Screenwriters Residency which has been scheduled for 7-15 September 2020. Pustnik is the only Romania-based residency for feature film development and is dedicated to young and emerging filmmakers from all over the world.

THESSALONIKI: The 22nd edition of the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival goes online from 19 to 28 May 2020. A total of 210 films will be screened, along with live open discussions.
