TALLINN: The Estonian/Croatian animated film Eeva directed by Morten Tšinakov and Lucija Mrzljak will have its international premiere in the Berlinale Shorts competition within the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival (16 – 26 February 2023).

SARAJEVO: Documentary projects in advanced phase of editing can apply to the 13th edition of Docu Rough Cut Boutique till 20 January 2023. The programme is organised by the Sarajevo Film Festival and the Balkan Documentary Center.

The Croatian Audiovisual Centre announced the following grants on 15 December 2022.

PRAGUE: The awaited production of Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu will start in Prague on 23 February 2023, serviced by Stillking Films. The main cast consists of Bill Skarsgard, Lily-Rose Depp and Nicholas Hoult.

Organized by Sarajevo Film Festival and Balkan Documentary Center, Docu Rough CutBoutique is a platform dedicated to documentary projects in the advancedphase of the editing process.

TALLINN: The construction of the Tallinn Film Wonderland film studio will begin in 2023, as confirmed by Margus Allikmaa, head of the Cultural Endowment of Estonia (Kultuurikapital).

BUCHAREST: Romanian film director, entrepreneur and philanthropist Ștefan Mandachi is in final postproduction with his second long documentary I Am Good Enough. An independent production, the film is a diary of a concrete and metaphorical journey, generated by a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.

TRIESTE: When East Meets West has announced the lineup for Last Stop Trieste, This is IT and First Cut+ at its 13th edition, which will take place 22-25 January 2023 within the Trieste Film Festival (21 – 28 January 2023).

PRAGUE: Long documentaries in rough cut stage are invited to apply to the dok.incubator workshop 2023. The applications’ deadline for the eight-month programme focused on editing, marketing and distribution is 26 January 2023.

The Visegrad Film Forum has announced the names of the first two confirmed guests at the event’s upcoming 10th edition. This year, as in years past, accomplished industry professionals, who have collaborated with such eminent directors as Jim Jarmusch and Roman Polanski, will be coming to Bratislava to share their experience and expertise in informal lectures. The decennial edition of the Visegrad Film Forum will be held on 15–18 March at the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava as well as in Bratislava movie theatres.
