BRATISLAVA: Short films from Slovakia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary are welcome to apply for the 2023 edition of the International Film Festival Febiofest Bratislava. The deadline for applications is 15 January 2023.
ZAGREB: Cricket & Antoinette directed by Luka Rukavina hit Croatian cinemas on 5 January 2023. The first Croatian 3D long animated film is a coproduction between Diedra Studio and Zagreb Film.
LOS ANGELES: Jerzy Skolimowski’s EO has been included in the International Feature Film shortlist, while Sierra by Sander Joon and Steakhouse by Špela Čadež have been included in the Animated Short Film shortlist at the 2023 Oscars.
BERLIN: Romanian/Polish/German/Swiss/British feature film Mammalia by Sebastian Mihăilescu and Slovak/Czech documentary Notes from Eremocenes by Viera Čákanyová are among the first titles announced in the Forum section at the 73rd edition of the Berlin IFF. Both films will have their world premiere at the festival held 16 – 26 February 2023.
FESTIVALS: Czech Animated Film Dede Is Dead Selected for Berlinale’s Generation Kplus
Czech Republic 16-12-2022PRAGUE: The Czech short animated film Dede Is Dead / Deniska umřela by Philippe Kastner will have its world premiere in the Generation Kplus section of the 73rd edition of the Berlin International Film Festival (16 – 26 February 2023).
WARSAW: The Polish Filmmakers Association has announced its awards for 2022. The annual awards are handed out for outstanding artistic achievements and contribution to the development of Polish cinematography.
TALLINN: Estonia’s National Archives and Film Institute have launched the platform Arkaader, providing classic and newer Estonian films. A virtual classroom is planned to be added in 2023.
ZAGREB: More than 40 titles will be screened in 25 independent cinemas across Croatia during the 10th edition of the Marathon of Short Films, which will be held 14 - 22 December 2022, organised by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC).
Film Center Serbia announced the grants for feature films, long documentaries, feature films for children and young audiences, as well as minority coproductions on 13 December 2022. The production grants for independently produced feature films were announced on 6 December 2022.
