VALLETTA: Malta’s Mediterrane Film Festival has announced the first titles from its Main Competition, as well as from the Out of Competition and Mare Nostrum sections. The festival is organised by the Malta Film Commission from 22 to 30 June 2024 under the theme Unity through Film.

MALTA, Valletta, 19th May 2024 – Malta’s Mediterrane Film Festival has unveiled the first wave of programming for its upcoming second edition of the festival, taking place from 22nd June to 30th June 2024 in the enchanting capital of the island, Valletta. These titles span the Main Competition, Out of Competition and Mare Nostrum programming strands and sit under the Mediterrane Film Festival’s theme for 2024: ‘Unity through Film’.

PARIS: Polish producer and member of the executive council of FNE Association Dariusz Jabłoński has been elected president of the European Producers Club (EPC).

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Ten projects from countries including Hungary, Serbia, Latvia and Romania have been selected for the 11th edition of Transilvania Pitch Stop (TPS), which with be held on 20 June 2024 within the 23rd Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF, 14 – 24 June 2024).

Transilvania International Film Festival (June 14-24, Cluj-Napoca) is set to host the 11th edition of the Transilvania Pitch Stop (TPS) on June 20. Ten selected projects will be presented in front of a gathering of industry professionals, including producers, distributors, sales agents, and representatives of film funds.

ZLĺN: The world's largest and oldest film festival for children and youth, Zlín Film Festival will screen 293 films from 55 countries at its upcoming 64th edition, which will be held 30 May - 5 June 2024.

PRAGUE: Rise & Shine, the animation development & pitching lab for young talents and their short films, has announced the 11 projects selected for its 3rd edition that will take place within Animafest Zagreb from 5 – 8 June 2024 and Animateka from 4 – 8 December 2024.

FNE has teamed up with FIPRESCI critics attending the Cannes Film Festival to rate the films in the Main Competition, Un Certain Regard, Directors' Fortnight and Critics Week, giving the films 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars. 5 is the best and 1 is the worst. The ratings give an overview of critics’ opinions from a large number of countries and provide insights into what critics in many different countries think about the programme. FNE will be publishing updates each day from today until the end of the festival.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Twelve first and sophomore features, including Where Elephants Go by Romanian directors Cătălin Rotaru and Gabi Virginia Șarga, have been selected for the Official Competition of the 23rd Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF), which will be held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania 14 – 24 June 2024.

CANNES: Creative Romanian Film Makers brings 13 dynamic Romanian companies to the Cannes’ Marche du Film, held 14 – 22 May 2024 within the 77th Festival de Cannes (14 - 25 May 2024). You can meet them at Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, 1st floor, stand 22.03.
