Night Riders heading to Lumière Festival! We are thrilled to announce that digitally restored Slovak classic Night Riders, from the collections of the National Film Archive of the Slovak Film Institute, will be world premiered at the 11th Lumière Festival in Lyon (10 – 18 October 2020).

PRAGUE: The CEE Animation Forum, taking place in an online edition 6-8 October 2020, presented 28 projects to an international audience.

PRAGUE: IGI produced by Georgia’s 20 Steps Productions and directed by Natia Nikolashvili won the CEE Animation Forum award for feature films. CEE Animation Forum, the leading pitching, financing and coproduction event focusing on the animation industry in the CEE region, was held online from 6 to 8 October 2020.

BERLIN: Films from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, and Poland are among the six films nominated in the European Discovery category of the European Film Awards. The winners will be awarded at a ceremony on 12 December 2020.

Nearly 40 events, participants from 34 countries, meetings with the most decision-making people in the industry, a chance to work in the American LAIKA studio or a course at the Aardman Academy. The guests include Mike Cooper, Andy Gent, Magda Bieszczak or Melanie Coombs - creators known for their work on the films: "Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Rabbit", "Miss Peregrine's Peculiar House", "The Isle of Dogs", "Harvie Krumpet" or "Mary and Max". Łódź will become a world center of stop motion animation for five days starting 6th October.

At this year's festival, as part of the project PIONEERING WOMEN IN FILM, the Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF), in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden in Latvia, the Swedish Institute and the Swedish Film Institute, will pay special attention to the works and significance of female directors in the history of film.

BUCHAREST: Alexander Nanau's acclaimed documentary collective / colectiv will be released in USA theatres and on-demand by Magnolia Pictures and Participant on 20 November 2020. Magnolia Pictures plans to submit the film to the Academy Awards 2021 in the best documentary feature category.

PRAGUE: The CEE Animation Forum presented 28 projects to an international audience in an online edition taking place 6-8 October 2020.

BUCHAREST: Cinemas will close in Bucharest and the Eastern Romanian city of Galați starting on 7 October 2020. Bucharest is also closing theatres, indoor cafés and restaurants. They will re-open when the incidence rate of Coronavirus infections falls below 1.5 for 1,000 citizens for 14 days.

The 17th edition of the international training course "Art Cinema = Action + Management" organised by CICAE took place last month, from 31 August to 6 September, on the island of San Servolo in Venice.
