WARSAW: Broad Peak by acclaimed Polish film director Leszek Dawid was presented at the First Cut+ Works in Progress in Karlovy Vary’s online edition Eastern Promises.
WARSAW: The 11th edition of New Horizons Studio+, organised by the New Horizons Association and Creative Europe Desk Poland, has announced the ten projects which will participate in its training programme for directors and producers developing their first or second feature film. The programme will take place online 24 – 27 July 2020.
WARSAW: Kids Kino Industry (formerly known as the Warsaw Kids Film Forum) has unveiled the 26 projects to be pitched at the 4th edition, taking place online from 29 September to 2 October 2020.
The East-West co-production market connecting cottbus will be held on 4-6 November 2020 entirely online. “With the project presentations at the core of the event, we will focus on the networking aspect among all participants and provide a vivid space for dialogue and exchange for the industry in Autumn, as we have had too few opportunities this year to meet and catch up”, says coco director Marjorie Bendeck. More details on coco’s format will be published in September, along with our project selection. The FilmFestival Cottbus’ 30th edition will take place on-site.
The MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2020 generation, represented by 22 filmmakers and 3 script consultant trainees, attended the Eastern Promises Industry Days of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which were held online July 6-9, 2020.
Nine promising projects of feature films were pitched on Tuesday, July 7 during Works in Development – Feature Launch, a networking initiative and project showcase of MIDPOINT Institute and KVIFF.
They were accompanied by the three attending script consultants who presented themselves as well.
Kids Kino Industry (formerly known as the Warsaw Kids Film Forum) is going to welcome industry representatives on 29.09–02.10 to join the extended programme performed fully online. The decision to move the event online was based on the uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation as well as on talks with industry members who are mostly unwilling to travel in the following months.
The second session this year of First Cut+ just ended successfully.
The workshop, with four days of consultations with various film industry experts for the eight selected producers and filmmakers, took place online due to the pandemic.
First Cut+ work-in-progress session, created for connecting the eight projects with cinema’s industry decision makers, was hosted as part of Karlovy Vary Eastern Promises industry days from the 6th to the 8th of July and had more then 150 professionals attending the streaming presentation.
Richer than ever in premieres, the Romanian film program of the 19th Transilvania International Film Festival includes a record 21 features and 16 shorts which will screen in the presence of filmmakers in Cluj-Napoca between July 31 and August 9. 15 of these will have their Romanian premieres, while 7 will have their world premieres in the Romanian Days section.

Festivals 10-07-2020The 2020 edition of Polish Days, one of the most important industry events in Poland, will take place July 27 - 29 online. Even though the New Horizons IFF, that usually is a frame for Polish Days, has been moved to November 2020, Polish filmmakers will have a chance to take part in July events thanks to its online formula.
