The European Genre Forum EGF, taking place for 6th time this year, has selected eight projects to attend two talent labs in 2020.  

The eight projects are invited to attend two talent labs in 2020, the first one, The Producing Lab takes place at Fantastic Zagreb, July 16 -19, 2020. The mentors in Zagreb coaching the teams include the CEO of  P1 Kemppinen Petri Kemppinen (former CEO of Nordisk Film & TV Fond) and international script consultant, screenwriter and trainer Simona Nobile.

CLUJ-NAPOCAThe Romanian Days selection at the 19th edition of the Transilvania IFF (TIFF) is richer than ever and will showcase 21 long and 16 short films, with seven world premieres and 16 national premieres. The festival will run from 31 July to 9 August 2020.

BRATISLAVA: MPhilms is coproducing the Hungarian/Slovak debut film Wild Roots by Hajni Kis. The film, which is supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, won the Works in Progress TRT Award of Karlovy Vary Industry Days.

BELGRADE: Writer/director Ivan Ikić is completing postproduction on his sophomore feature The Users / Korisnici, a coproduction between Serbia, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and France. The film was presented at First Cut+ Works in Progress at Karlovy Vary Eastern Promises, 6-8 July 2020.

Submissions for East Silver Market will be accepted through 31 July 2020.

TALLINN: The Lithuanian film Meat to Maths by Emilija Riviere and the Slovenian film The Vultures by Vida Breže are among the eight projects selected to participate in the European Genre Forum, an Estonian/Croatian/Dutch initiative.

WARSAW: Writer/director Piotr Złotorowicz is in postproduction with the Polish drama Wiarołom for Munk Studio. The project was presented at the Karlovy Vary online Eastern Promises Works in Progress on 7 July 2020.

VILNIUS: Just a Moment is producing Burial, the debut feature length creative documentary from the internationally awarded Lithuanian artist Emilija Škarnulytė. The project participated in the Eurimages Lab Project Award presentation at the online edition of Karlovy Vary Eastern Promises on 8 July 2020.

Zagreb Film Festival initiates an internet platform for the promotion of Croatian short film – croatian.film

A unique online platform for the promotion of Croatian short film – croatian.film (www.croatian.film) – was launched on Wednesday at the Urania Center – a space of creation. 

An in-kind contribution of 100 thousand PLN for the production of two best projects, professional software or 2-week artist residency in Argentina. These are some of the prizes for the 15 finalists of ANIMARKT Pitching 2020, who will have an opportunity to present their projects during the world’s only event dedicated to the stop motion animation industry. Submissions are now accepted.
