BRUSSELS: The International Union of Cinemas (UNIC) calls on national governments to do all they can in the weeks and months to come to ensure that European cinemas are able to survive during the COVID-19 crisis.

PRAGUE: The Czech audiovisual industry is experiencing a major crisis, with film production expected to decrease as much as 75% by the end of 2020 due to the coronavirus situation.

ZLIN: The 60th edition of the Zlín Film Festival has been postponed from 29 May-6 June 2020 to 4-10 September 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Transilvania IFF is receiving applications for its coproduction platform Transilvania Pitch Stop while waiting until April to decide if it will postpone its 19th edition.

The Transilvania International Film Festival team continues to receive projects for the newest edition of Transilvania Pitch Stop (TPS) until March 31st. The industry event is scheduled to take place on 5-6 June in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Postponed film releases, halted filming of feature films, documentaries and TV series and huge losses for dozens of film companies and thousands of people working in film industry and the related areas. The representatives of Audiovisual Producers' Association (APA), uniting more than 100 production companies, summarize the situation connected to the measures taken to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
