KRAKOW: Submissions for CEDOC MARKET (Central European Documentary Market), formerly known as DOC LAB POLAND Co-Production Market, are open until 31 March 2020. The market will be held in Krakow on 4-5 June 2020.

At this time of global health crisis, our thoughts go to the victims of the COVID-19 and we express our solidarity with all of those who are fighting the disease.

PARIS: The Festival de Cannes has announced that the festival will not be held 12 to 23 May 2020 as scheduled, due to the Corona Virus crisis. Several options are being considered in order to preserve its running, the main one being a simple postponement, until the end of June-beginning of July 2020.

Resulting in the state emergency declared by the Estonian government, the 15th Haapsalu Horror and Fantasy Film Festival is currently postponed or may take place online.

The One World Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, whose organisers decided to interrupt the festival on Wednesday, 10 March, in order to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, will make its films available to viewers online. In cooperation with the DAFilms.cz online cinema, the festival will present the selected films from all of the festival’s categories which were scheduled to be screened during the remaining days of the festival. From Thursday, 12 March to Tuesday, 17 March, viewers will be able to watch the available documentaries on the dafilms.com and oneworld.cz websites from the comfort of their homes. On Friday, 13 March, the world premiere of the film Dog Love by Linda Kallistová Jablonská will be exclusively available online. The individual films are available for watching online for CZK 59 per film.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the decision of the WHO to declare a pandemic and safety measures implemented by the Czech Republic as well as many other European states, we have to postpone our activities planned for April and early May.

Though we are very worried about the Covid-19 situation, we are not slowing down with the CEDOC Co-production Market preparations! We are working really hard to organize it in the best possible way, corresponding with the changing reality and bearing in mind the safety of all as our priority.

Zlín Film Festival

The organizers of the Zlín Film Festival are moving this year's event to September 4-10, 2020. They have made this decision based on the coronavirus pandemic. The 60th anniversary of the oldest and largest film festival for children and youth was originally scheduled to take place during its traditional period of the turn of May and June, namely May 29 to June 6, 2020. However, the organizers consider the September term to be more realistic. “It is to our extreme sorrow that this year children will not be able to celebrate both this festival and approaching end of the school year at our festival due to our postponing it. Instead of celebrating the end of the school year with children, we plan to welcome the beginning of the next one with them,” said Festival President Čestmír Vančura. Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF) welcomes submissions to its four competition programmes: the RIGA IFF Feature Film Competition and three SHORT RIGA competitions – the international and national short film competitions, and the Baltic Music Video Competition (BMV). The festival's competitions are especially opportune for debuting directors seeing that RIGA IFF juries include a considerable number of programme organisers for other international film festivals. The seventh edition of RIGA IFF will take place October 15 to 25, 2020.
