Region 25-07-2016ODESSA: Edith Sepp the head of the Estonian Film Institute and Chair of the Film New Europe Association presented Film New Europe and the opportunities it offers to the European film industry at the recent Creative Europe Seminar at the Odessa IFF held on 22 July.
PRAGUE: The British/Czech/French coproduction Anthropoid by Sean Ellis will be released in the UK and Ireland on 9 September 2016. The film stars Jamie Dornan, Cillian Murphy, Charlotte Le Bon, Anna Geislerová and Toby Jones.
East Silver, a documentary market specialised in Eastern and Central European documentary film, is still open for submissions for upcoming projects in rough cut stage.

The seminar will take place within the Odessa IFF on 22 July 2016.
SARAJEVO: Twenty one titles have been selected for the Documentary Competition Programme of the 22th Sarajevo International Film Festival, running from 12 to 20 August 2016.
WARSAW: Jan Naszewski's sales outlet New Europe Film Sales picks up the Polish Locarno main competition entry The Last Family by Jan P. Matuszyński.
BUCHAREST: A state aid scheme for movie productions in Romania could lead to a fivefold increase in the local film industry, up to approximately 250 m EUR per year. It would also help create some 4,000 new jobs, according to a PwC Romania study.
PULA: Zrinko Ogresta’s On the Other Side was awarded the Grand Golden Arena at the 63rd edition of Pula Film Festival, which took place from 9 to 16 July 2016. The film received seven other awards including best director and screenplay.
The first grants for 2016 were announced by Film Center Serbia on 6 June 2016.
VENICE: Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski and French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo will both receive Golden Lions for Lifetime Achievement at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival set to take place from 31 August to 10 September 2016.
