PRAGUE: Central European Media Enterprises reported an increase of 2.3 percent in net revenues in its first quarter of 2016 results, at 129 m USD. Operating income for the three months that ended on 31 March 2016 was 7.8 USD compared to an operating loss of 17.2 m USD for Q1 in 2015.

WIESBADEN: The Polish/Czech/Slovak coproduction Red Spider directed by Marcin Koszałka won the Best Director award and Emilia Vasaryova received an Honourable Mention for her title performance in the Slovak/Czech film Eva Nova from director Marko Skop at the 16th goEast Festival of Central and Eastern European Films during the closing ceremony on 26 April 2016.
