Film O'Clock International Festival returns with a strong selection of classic films and top short films
Festivals 28-02-2023Creatrix Fama and ABI Fundație, with the support of DACIN SARA, UPFAR ARGOA and UCIN, proudly presents the third edition of the Film O'Clock International Festival from 28 February to 4 March 2023. Simultaneous screenings will be held in 7 cinemas across as many countries: Cinema Muzeul Țăranului (Bucharest, Romania), Skalvija Cinema (Vilnius, Lithuania), Cinema Zhovten (Kiev, Ukraine), Krasno Selo Cultural Centre (Sofia, Bulgaria), Cinema Andora (Athens, Greece), Zawya Cinema (Cairo, Egypt) and the Labia Theatre (Cape Town, South Africa), along with online debates and discussions.
BERLIN: FNE has teamed up with FIPRESCI critics attending the Berlin Film Festival to rate the films in the Main Competition, Panorama and Forum giving the films 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars. 5 is the best and 1 is the worst. The ratings give an overview of critics opinions from a large number of countries and provide insights to what critics in many different countries think about the programme.
PRAGUE: My Sunny Maad by Michaela Pavlátová, which is a coproduction between the Czech Republic, France and Slovakia, received the award for best long animated film at the 48th César Awards, announced on 24 February 2023.
PRODUCTION: Thomas Vinterberg Shoots TV Miniseries Families Like Ours in Czech Republic
Czech Republic 27-02-2023PRAGUE: Thomas Vinterberg’s first TV miniseries Families Like Ours, starring Nikolaj Lie Kass, Paprika Steen and Thomas Bo Larsen, is currently shooting in Prague. The 16 m EUR miniseries is a major European coproduction produced by Danish Zentropa, with Czech Sirena Film and CANAL+ Poland among the coproducers.
VILNIUS: Lithuania’s first slasher horror Pensive / Rupintojelis directed by Jonas Trukanas will be released in North America by Cinedigm on its horror streaming platform SCREAMBOX, which is powered by Bloody Disgusting.
KRAKOW: Documentary producers from around the world who are looking for international partners can apply to the Central European Documentary Coproduction Market (CEDOC), which will be held within the industry programme of the Krakow Film Festival 2023.
CEDOC Market held during the KFF Industry at the Krakow Film Festiwal is now accepting the applications. The documentary producers from all around the world who are looking for new international partners for their projects may apply. Event takes place in June and the deadline for submissions is in the end of March.

VILNIUS: Production service partners Twentyfour Seven and Radioaktive Film expand into Lithuania, where they plan to work on commercials and feature films.
TALLINN: The sci-fi thriller Last Sentinel by Estonian Academy Award nominated Tanel Toom has been sold by Altitude to Vertical for North American distribution. The film is a British/Estonian/German coproduction.
