For many years, the New Horizons International Film Festival and the European Film Academy have been co-operating in the framework of a special edition of the EFA’s A Sunday in the Country for young film journalists and critics from across Europe.

For the first time, this year’s 73rd Film Market in Cannes will be held online from 22 to 26 June. The Slovenian Film Centre will present three Slovenian features at the virtual film market (Market Screenings 2020). The screenings are mainly intended for the festival selectors, who can ensure that the films have the best possible international festival premieres.

In this extraordinary context, the 24th edition of the European Film Festival (24.EFF) migrates from cinemas to online and takes place from 17 to 21 June on the TIFF Unlimited platform. On June 21, a collection of 18 films made by Romanian directors in isolation will be made available worldwide. 

VALLETTA: The Arts Council Malta (ACM), the Mediterranean island’s national agency overseeing public funding for the creative and cultural sector, has pledged support to 26 non-Governmental organisations – including film bodies – with an investment of 1,020,000 EUR per year, through their currently active partnership agreements.

First Cut Lab Poland is a programme designed for two or three Polish long feature fiction films in editing phase, supported by the Polish Film Institute. This year workshop will take place from 24 - 27 July 2020 in Wrocław during New Horizons International Film Festival in the frame of the industry event Polish Days.

As the film industry's most important event, the very word "Cannes" electrifies filmmakers all around the world. And little has changed in these difficult times - we still expect cinematic revelations to premiere there.

The first step on the way to greatness may be Marché du Film, the largest film fair in Cannes, taking place online this year.
