PLZEN: Aurel Klimt's first feature Laika, an animated Czech sci-fi musical that's been in the making for the past five years, is due to be released in 2017.

WIESBADEN: goEast, the international film festival held in Germany, which focuses on Eastern European films, has announced its award winners. The festival ran from 22 to 28 April 2015. The four awards of the Competition for Fiction Features and Documentaries at the 15th edition of goEast have been presented to films from Serbia, Croatia, the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic.

The unique East European film festival in France - A l’Est du Nouveau film festival took place for the tenth time from April 17th to 24th. For the year of 2015, it was hosted by the Seine Maritime Cinemas in Rouen, Mont Saint Aignan, Elbeuf and Yvetot.

NICOSIA: Three Windows and a Hanging, a coproduction between Kosovo and Germany, took the first prize of Cyprus Film Days. The festival ran from 17 to 26 April 2015.

LUXEMBOURG: Ties that Bind – the Asia Europe Producers Workshop is once again taking place in 2015. Out of 65 applications from Europe and Asia, 10 producers with their feature films in development have been selected to participate along with 5 other European professionals interested in working with Asia.

PRAGUE: DOK.Incubator has a new programme to support Czech documentaries. Support will be available for Czech filmmakers and producers both for the shooting stage and during postproduction.

ROUEN: The main prize of the 10th edition of the A l'Est, de Nouveau film festival went to Serbian/German/Macedonian/Croatian coproduction Monument to Michael Jackson, directed by Darko Lungulov and coproduced in Croatia by Propeler Film. The student jury gave their prize to Little Crushes, directed by Ireneusz Grzyb and Aleksandra Gowin and produced by Koi Studio and Fixafilm Postproduction House.
