Hungary`s leading film festival is the special guest in Bucharest, Romania at the 2014 Hungarian Film Week between 10 and 16 November.

The 18th Black Nights film festival beginning on the 14th November will present 18 worldwide entries in the main competition, among them a record-breaking number of International and European premieres. The competition programme presents a remarkable variety of film cultures.

The 20th Vilnius International Film Festival “Kino Pavasaris” officially started its promotional campaign by unveiling the first program of the jubilee festival – Leos Carax retrospective. His film “Holy Motors” was screened on the 1st of November at Vilnius cinema centre “Forum Cinemas Vingis”. The screening was followed by the Q&A with the director Leos Carax and Lithuanian philosopher and screenwriter Kristupas Sabolius.

VILNIUS: Three Lithuanian films will have their premieres at the Scanorama European Film Festival which kicks off its four city tour in Vilnius on 6 November 2014 and runs through 23 November.

TALLINN: Sixteen Estonian documentary projects have received funding for 2014.

VILNIUS: Young Lithuanian producer/director Romas Zabarauskas is turning to crowdfunding for his third film, You Can’t Escape Lithuania.

BRATISLAVA: Six Slovak films will screen in the Made in Slovakia section of the Bratislava IFF running 7-14 November 2014.

FNE spoke to Georgian producer Vladimer Katcharava who heads the Tbilisi based production outfit 20 Steps about shooting films in Georgia and his work as a coproducer on Mohsen Makhmalbaf’s new film The President which shot on location in Georgia with Georgian actors.

BRATISLAVA: A Czech film and a Slovak-Czech coproduction are among the films screening in the 16th Bratislava IFF competition of first and second films.

PRAGUE: Central European Media Enterprises reported another quarter of rising revenues, with 2014 quarter three net revenues up 7 percent over 2013, at 140m USD.
