BELGRADE: First Serbian sci-fi and first debut feature by prominent Serbian visual artist Lazar Bodroža is among the five domestic premieres in the national section of the 2018 FEST, running from 24 February to 4 March 2018.

BELGRADE: Esteemed Serbian helmer Dejan Zečević has the domestic premiere of his ninth feature film Offenders / Izgrednici in the national section of the 2018 FEST, running from 24 February to 4 March 2018. The film was first screened at the 2017 Chicago IFF.

BELGRADE: Bandits in Search of Mom / Banditi u potrazi za mamom, the debut feature by Kosta Ristić mixing fiction and non-fiction, had its premiere in the national section of the 2018 FEST, which runs from 24 February to 4 March 2018.

BELGRADE: Young Serbian filmmaker Svetislav Dragomorović’s debut feature Horizons / Horizonti will have its domestic premiere in the national section of the 2018 FEST running from 24 February to 4 March 2018. Horizons was selected for the 2017 Cairo IFF.

BELGRADE: Bugs and Heroes / O bubicama i herojima directed by Petar Pašić had its premiere in the national section of the 2018 FEST running from 24 February to 4 March 2018.

BELGRADE: Film Center Serbia (FCS), EWA (European Women’s Audiovisual Network) and FEST FORWARD, the industry segment of FEST 2018, have announced six upcoming projects officially selected to take part in this year’s edition of the “FEST Forward Women in Film” industry programme.

BELGRADE: Serbia has increased its cash rebate for film production from 20% to 25%, according to an offical announcement. The rebate applies to qualified Serbian spend for feature films, TV series, animation films and visual effects, TV commercials and documentaries.

BELGRADE: Independent sales company Arclight Films has acquired the rights for Ederlezi Rising by Lazar Bodroža, the first Serbian science fiction film. Arclight chairman Gary Hamilton announced that Ederlezi Rising will be presented to buyers for the first time at the Berlin Film Festival market. The film has been supported by Film Center Serbia.

BELGRADE: The Russian/Polish/Serbian coproduction Dovlatov directed by Aleksey German, Jr. has been acquired by the Paris-based sales company Alpha Violet ahead of its world premiere in the Competition of the 68th Berlin IFF (15-25 February 2018). The film stars the Serbian actor Milan Marić.

BELGRADE: The 46th edition of FEST, the largest and most popular film festival in Serbia, will screen 126 films from 23 February to 4 March 2018. Sixteen films are in the International Competition and five feature films will screen in the Serbian Cinema competitive section.
