BELGRADE: Serbian director Vasilije Nikitović started the production of his sophomore feature The Crown / Kruna, with the score composed by Goran Bregović, who is also among the actors.

PRAGUE: Czech director/producer Jan Strejcovský is currently in production with his first long documentary Is It Worth It? / Má to cenu?, which is estimated to be finished in 2024.

SKOPJE: Macedonian production company Riefenstahl released the first season of the teen TV series Teen Camp directed by Marko Gjokovik. The first episode of the spin-off of the popular TV show Dajte muzika premiered on MRT1 on 15 October 2022 and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 20.15 CET.

BUCHAREST: Paul Negoescu is currently filming a sequel to his domestic BO hit Two Lottery Tickets / Două lozuri. Produced again independently by Actoriedefilm.ro, Three Lottery Tickets / Trei lozuri (working title) has its premiere loosely set for the autumn of 2023.

WARSAW: Maciej Kawulski’s new feature film Mr. Blot's Academy / Akademia Pana Kleksa, based on the bestselling children's novel by Jan Brzechwa and currently in production, will be divided into two parts. Polish viewers will see the first one at the end of 2023, but before that an entire metaverse, including NFTs related to the title, will be created.

BUDAPEST: Dániel Hevér is currently in production with his first feature film, Some Birds / Valami madarak. The project was prepared in the Incubator Programme of the National Film Institute – Hungary and won best development award at MIDPOINT 2019.

LJUBLJANA: Sonja Prosenc started shooting her third feature film Redemption / Odrešitev in the town of Vodice, near Ljubljana, on 5 October 2022. This black comedy/drama is a Slovenian/Italian/Croatian/Serbian/Norwegian coproduction.

BELGRADE: Radivoje Andrić has started the production of a sequel to his Serbian and regional blockbuster Dudes / Munje, produced by Yodi Movie Craftsman, which had nearly 572,000 admissions in Serbia and Montenegro in 2001. The sequel is titled Dudes Again! / Munje: Opet! and it is supported by Film Center Serbia.

PRAGUE: Natálie Císařovská’s debut feature The Body / Její tělo wrapped shooting on 23 September 2022. The film is a Czech/Slovak coproduction inspired by the real story of diver Andrea Absolonová, who became a world-famous porn actress after losing her Olympic dream and sports career due to a spinal injury.

ZAGREB: Motivated by a surprising number of Croats who claim to share a family connection with John Malkovich, film director, poet and marketing expert Luka Mavretić decided to make a film about that. His first long documentary Being Related to John Malkovich is currently in production with Anita Juka producing through Croatia’s 4film, and Italy’s Tesla Production and Martichka Bozhilova through Bulgaria’s Agitprop as coproducers.

BUCHAREST: Bogdan Theodor Olteanu is shooting his third feature film, the comedy Taxi Drivers / Taximetriști, from 19 September to 5 October 2022. The film is an independent 100% Romanian coproduction produced by Bold Film Studio (the first film investment fund in Romania), together with Tangaj Production and Avanpost Media.

SKOPJE: Film director Ibër Deari has entered postproduction with his first feature film Everybody Calls Redjo / Site go vikaa tRedjo, which is produced by Sasho Pavlovski through  Manufaktura Production. The film backed by the North Macedonia Film Agency deals with one of the most current topics in the Albanian world today: the flight of young people into exile.

BELGRADE: Ted Nicolaou's Subspecies V: Blood Rise, a new instalment in the famous horror franchise, is currently shooting in Serbia as an American/Serbian coproduction involving the local company Red Production. The producers intend to apply to Serbia’s cash rebate programme.

RIJEKA: The crew of the Serbian TV series South Wind / Južni Vetar, created and directed by Miloš Avramović, produced by Serbia’s Archangel Studios and Režim Beograd, and coproduced by Croatia's Telefilm for the Serbian Radiotelevision, has arrived in the Kvarner region of Croatia.

VILNIUS: Film director Lina Lūžytė and philosopher & film director Nerijus Milerius make their debut as a directors duo with feature drama Jōhatsu, which is currently shooting as a Lithuanian/Latvian/French coproduction. Uljana Kim is producing.

SKOPJE: Macedonian production company OXO released the first season of the sitcom House Arrest / Kukjenpritvor directed by Vardan Tozija. The first episode of the spin-off of the popular TV series Prespav, produced by OXO, aired on MRT1 and the VoD platform Gley.mk on 19 September 2022.
