WARSAW: Polish public broadcaster TVP is moving into production with a family series, Just My Luck. The show is based on an original Polish script and will replace family.pl, a Canadian licensed series produced by TVP.

BUCHAREST: A Romanian comedy directed by Iura Luncaşu and produced by MediaPro Pictures (www.mediapropictures.com) started a three week shoot on 31 October 2011.

BUCHAREST: Universal Studios's Untitled Werewolf Thriller wraps the shoot of a re-boot of Joe Johnston The Wolfman (2010), filmed entirely in Romania, on 8 November 2011. Shooting of started on 26 September. Shooting took place on location at Sighişoara for two weeks and Căciulaţi, near Bucharest, before wrapping at Castel Film Studios (www.castelfilm.ro).
PRODUCTION: Agnieszka Holland directing Czech miniseries for HBO Central Europe
WARSAW: Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland will direct a miniseries about the 1968 Prague Spring crackdown and Jan Palach, a young student who set himself on fire as a form of protest. The series is planned to be available to all HBO subscribers in Central Europe.
PRODUCTION: Slovak Documentary Comeback in Postproduction
BRATISLAVA: Comeback, a Slovak documentary on the situation of ex-convicts trying to reenter society upon their release from a high-security prison, is in its final stage of rough cut. The 70,000 euro feature-length film is schedule for release in March 2012.

WARSAW: Grzegorz Kuczeriszka has finished the first part of the shoot for Mission: Afghanistan, an original Polish series produced by Akson Studio for Canal+. The production will resume in April 2012 with a premiere planned for the fall of 2012.

PRODUCTION: Across the Mountain in Development
BUCHAREST: Ileana Stănculescu, whose first documentary The Bridge/Podul peste Tisa won First Appereance Award at IDFA in 2004, is developing Across the Mountain, a creative documentary about the friendship between a group of imigrants on their way to Germany but accidentally trapped in the small Romanian town of Şomcuţa Mare (Maramureş district) and the local people.
PRODUCTION: From Romania to Zion in Preproduction
BUCHAREST: Producer-director Oana Giurgiu is in preproduction with From Romania to Zion, a long documentary on Jewish immigration from Romania to Israel and the present relations between both countries. She plans to use archive materials and interviews in order to build a light, colourful film, "a journey through family life stories" with a glimpse at the complexity of 130 years of history.

WARSAW: Polish filmmaker Tadeusz Krol started shooting his second film Last Floor on 23 October 2011 in Warsaw. Filming on the psychological thriller will continue until 15 December.

BRATISLAVA: World Without End, an eight-part historical TV series with British director Michael Caton-Jones, is currently shooting in Slovakia. The series is the sequel to the 2010 Golden Globe-nominated TV epic The Pillars of the Earth.
