TBILISI: Georgian director Maradia Tsaava is currently in production with her first long documentary My Neighbour. The shooting for this Georgian/French coproduction started in August 2019.

RIGA: Russian spy series Pawns (Metrafilms), which was presented at the Berlinale’s CoPro Series, will be coproduced by Latvia’s Tasse Film. The series conceived by Michael and Lily Idov is set in the mid-1960s and focuses on a professional chess player Max, who is involved in spying activities. The director is to be announced.

WARSAW: Other People, a Warner Bros.- Madants coporoduction, will be the debut for director Aleksandra Trepińska. The film is based on a bestselling novel and is made with the support of the Mazovia Warsaw Film Commission. It is set to open in cinemas in the fall of 2020.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Mariana Čengel Solčanská is finishing preproduction on the fairytale The Enchanted Cave / Zakliata jaskyňa. Shooting of the Slovak/Czech/Slovenian coproduction is planned for the summer of 2020.

WARSAW: Katarzyna Klimkiewicz has finished shooting a biopic on Kalina Jędrusik, the iconic Polish actress and singer dubbed the Polish Marilyn Monroe. The film received support from the Mazovia Warsaw Film Commission.

ZAGREB: Serbian veteran filmmaker Slobodan Šijan is in production with his first film since 2007, The Great Tram Robbery / Bidi Bog s nama. The film is a coproduction between Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Romania.

WARSAW: The Irish/Polish coproduction Wolf, directed by Nathalie Biancheri and starring George MacKay and Lily-Rose Depp, is set to start shooting in April 2020. Bankside Films manages the worldwide sales.

TBILISI: Georgian director Tamta Gabrichidze is currently in preproduction with her first long documentary Mugamati. The filming is planned for the summer of 2020. Gabrichidze’s short documentary The Trader / Sovdagari was awarded at Sundance and HoT Docs, and became the first Georgian documentary distributed by Netflix worldwide.

TBILISI: Georgian writer/director Tamaz (Tazo) Narimanidze is completing postproduction on his debut feature Winter Depression, which was supported by the Georgian National Film Center.

TBILISI: Georgian writer/director Giorgi Mukhadze is currently in preproduction with his debut feature When You Are 17. Shooting is scheduled for August 2020.

BELGRADE: Ivan Ikić is entering the final stages of postproduction with his sophomore feature The Users / Korisnici, a coproduction between Serbia, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and France.

TBILISI: Georgian writer/director Data Pirtskhalava is currently in preproduction with his debut feature A Long Break. Pirtskhalava won the Best International Short Award at the Locarno International Film Festival with his first film Father / Mama in 2015.

BUCHAREST: Awarded Romanian documentary director Andrei Dăscălescu is in the last stages of postproduction with Holy Father / Tatăl nostru, a personal journey he undertook to discover what it takes to be a good parent, while looking for his long-lost father on Mount Athos.

ZAGREB: The award-winning Croatian director Hana Jušić is in development with her second feature film God Will Not Help, produced by Kinorama in coproduction with Gustav film from Slovenia and TICO Film Company from Italy.

BRATISLAVA: The fifth and final season of the TV series Van Helsing will be partly filmed in Slovakia. The American/Canadian dark fantasy TV series registered for incentives at the Slovak Audiovisual Fund through the Slovak production company Spectral s.r.o. at the end of 2019.

WARSAW: Patryk Vega enters postproduction on his new film Bad Boy, which was shot on location in Wrocław from December 2019 till the first week of January 2020. This time the Polish director takes on scandal in the world of soccer.
