PODGORICA: The renowned writer/director Isa Qosja is currently in preproduction with The Stork, a coproduction between Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia set to start shooting on 26 August 2019. The film has recently received coproduction support from Eurimages.
PRODUCTION: Ukrainian/Lithuanian The Earth is Blue as an Orange in Production
VILNIUS: The creative documentary The Earth is Blue as an Orange by Iryna Tsylik is currently in production. The film is a coproduction between the Ukrainian company Albatros Communicos and Lithuania‘s Moonmakers. This is the first time a Lithuanian coproduction project has been supported by IDFA Bertha Fund Europe Co-production.
PRODUCTION: Slovak Director Jaro Vojtek in Preproduction with Anesthesia
BRATISLAVA: The renowned Slovak documentary filmmaker Jaro Vojtek is in preproduction with his second feature film Anesthesia / Anestéza (working title). According to the producer Mátyás Prikler from MPhilms, the film is expected to be finished in the second half of 2021.

WARSAW: Berlinale Crystal Bear winning director Katarzyna Rosłaniec is in development with Salt Lake, a Polish/Swedish coproduction that has received funding from Creative Europe - MEDIA.

RIGA: Latvian director Laila Pakalniņa is starting principal shooting for a Latvian/Lithuanian feature film, In the Mirror.
PRODUCTION: Hungarian/Romanian The Last Bus to Start Shooting
BUDAPEST: Nándor Lőrincz and Bálint Nagy’s debut feature The Last Bus will start shooting on 18 July 2019. The film is a Hungarian/Romanian coproduction and it won the Postproduction Services Award offered by Romania’s Chainsaw Europe Studio at the 2018 edition of Transilvania Pitch Stop, the coproduction platform of the 17th Transilvania IFF held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
PRODUCTION: Oleg Novković In Postproduction with Serbian/German/Bulgarian Living Man
BELGRADE: Oleg Novković has wrapped shooting of his sixth feature Living Man / Živ čovek and is now in postproduction. This film, supported by Film Center Serbia, Germany’s MDM Fund and the Bulgarian National Film Centre, is a Serbian/German/Bulgarian coproduction.
PRODUCTION: Viesturs Kairšs’ City on the River in Postproduction
RIGA: Viesturs Kairišs' City on the River / Pilsēta pie upes is in post-production, after the completion of the last shooting period in April 2019. Filming lasted 37 days. Most of the location shooting took place in the Eastern part of Latvia (Latgale), at the Baltic Sea near Rīga and in Lithuania near the Latvian border. The film is produced by Ego Media and it is expected to be released in early 2020.
PRODUCTION: Robert Dornhelm Shoots Maria Theresa II in Czech Republic
PRAGUE: Two new episodes of the successful international miniseries Maria Theresa II are currently shooting on Czech locations. The director Robert Dornhelm and his crew are also presenting the project at the Karlovy Vary IFF, which runs through 6 June 2019.
PRODUCTION: Iranian Director Ali Mossaffa Shoots in Prague
PRAGUE: Ali Mosaffa, Iranian director, actor and producer, is completing the shooting on his feature Halves in Prague. The mystical drama based on real events tells the story of a middle-aged Iranian investigating his father´s communist past in contemporary Prague.
PRODUCTION: Stefan Komandarev Completes Bulgarian/Serbian Coproduction Rounds
SOFIA: Stefan Komandarev has finished his fifth feature film Rounds, a Bulgarian/Serbian coproduction supported by Eurimages. It is a sequel to the director’s previous Bulgarian/German/Macedonian film Directions (Argo Film, Aktis Film Production, Sector), selected for Un Certain Regard in 2017.
PRODUCTION: Peeter Simm Shoots On the Water
ESTONIA: The renowned Estonian director Peeter Simm is currently shooting the coming of age drama On the Water / Vee peal. The shooting period started in February and will continue throughout the summer.
PRODUCTION: Nicolas Cage and William Baldwin Shoot in Cyprus
NICOSIA: Nicolas Cage stars in Jiu Jitsu by Greek-American director and producer Dimitri Logothetis, the first international production to be shot entirely in Cyprus since the launch in 2018 of the cash rebates of up to 35 percent on qualifying expenditures.
PRODUCTION: Bulgaria Joins Armenian Film and TV Project Remission
SOFIA: The Bulgarian company JelFilm teams up with Armenia’s Parallels Film Production and Germany’s Clever Production on the feature film Remission. The project, which was on hold, has now restarted production.
PRODUCTION: Slovak/Hungarian Animated Sci-Fi White Plastic Sky in Production
BRATISLAVA: White Plastic Sky / Umelohmotné nebo, an animated/live action feature by Tibor Bánóczki and Sarolta Szabó, is currently in production. The sci-fi drama is produced by Slovakia‘s Artichoke and Hungary’s Salto Film.
