PRAGUE: A House Made of Splinters by Simon Lereng Wilmont, a coproduction between Denmark, Sweden and Ukraine, has been awarded Best Film in the International Competition of the 24th edition of the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, whose winners were announced on 31 March 2022. This is the first time in two years when the festival has had physical screenings.

DUBROVNIK: The tourist show Bedekr produced by the Czech Television wrapped shooting a new season in Croatia in Zagreb, Plitvice Lakes, and Dubrovnik.

BUDAPEST: Hungary is ready to welcome new international productions in 2022, including Dune: Part Two by Denis Villeneuve and the Netflix miniseries All the Light We Cannot See, after a record-breaking year of 585 m EUR production spend. The Academy Award received by Hungarian set designer Zsuzsanna Sipos for the production design of Dune is fuelling the local energy to improve the number and quality of services for international productions.

WARSAW: Disney+ will be launched in 42 new countries in May-June 2022, including in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia, where the streaming service of The Walt Disney Company will be launched on 14 June 2022.

BUCHAREST: Romanian writer/director Andrei Cohn is preparing to shoot his third feature film Gefilte Fish in April 2022. The film will be produced by Anca Puiu through Romania’s Mandragora in coproduction with French Shellac films and Swiss Bord Cadre.

ZAGREB: Eight projects have been selected for ZagrebDox Pro, the industry platform of the ZagrebDox International Documentary Film Festival. This year ZagrebDox Pro adds Confessions to its name and will focus on students and young professionals. The event will take place 5-8 April 2022.
