The Commission has published the first three calls for proposals opened under the framework of the Creative Europe MEDIA 2022, a programme with a total of €226 million of EU funding available this year. JIHLAVA: The 26th edition of the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival has opened admissions for feature-length and short films, animated and interactive documentaries. The call for the eleventh edition of the Emerging Producers programme, which will take place 24–28 October 2022 (Jihlava) and in February 2023 (Berlin), is also open for applications.

We are now receiving submissions for the 26th Ji.hlava IDFF and look forward to seeing your films. We accept feature-length and short films, animated and interactive documentaries. The films premiered in Jihlava have a chance to be nominated for the European Film Academy Awards and the winners at the Ji.hlava IDFF are also eligible for Oscar® consideration in the Documentary Short Subject and Documentary Feature Subject categories. WARSAW: Principal photography for Sebastian Buttny's Polish/Hungarian film Saint / Święty wrapped on 11 February 2022. The film has been shot for thirty days in Poznań and Gniezno.

BUCHAREST: Christopher Landry’s Document 56 has wrapped production in Romania. The Romanian/USA feature short tells the strange-but-true story of a covert Cold War alliance between the American CIA and the Romanian Securitate (secret police) to finance the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein.

LOS ANGELES: Polish film The Dress by Tadeusz Łysiak was nominated for the Academy Awards in the Short Film (Live Action) category. Hungarian set decorator Zsuzsanna Sipos received a nomination in the Production design category, together with the Canadian production designer Patrice Vermette, for Dune by Denis Villeneuve. Polish DoPJanusz Kamiński got a nod for Best Cinematography in West Side Story.

WARSAW: The 6th edition of Kids Kino Industry will take place on 27–30 September 2022 in a hybrid format, both in person in Warsaw and online. The international co-production forum will be organised in the frames of the 9th edition of Kids Kino International Film Festival.
