BERLIN: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are Countries in Focus at the upcoming Berlinale European Film Market (16 – 22 February 2023), the industry platform of the Berlin International Film Festival (16 – 26 February 2023).

PARIS: EO by Jerzy Skolimowski, My Sunny Maad by Michaela Pavlátová, and Granny’s Sexual Life by Urška Djukić and Émilie Pigeard have been nominated for the 48th César Awards.

ZAGREB: The co-development funding RE-ACT (Regional Audiovisual Cooperation and Training) announced the eight winning projects for 2022.

WARSAW: Estonian director Anna Hints was presented with the Directing Award: World Cinema Documentary for Smoke Sauna Sisterhood, while Lithuanian director Marija Kavtaradze received the Directing Award: World Cinema Dramatic for Slow at the Sundance Film Festival, which wrapped 29 January 2023.

TRIESTE: The Austrian film Sonne by Kurdwin Ayub received the Trieste Award for best feature film at the 34rd edition of the Trieste Film Festival, which took place 21 – 28 January 2023.

BUDAPEST: The International Film Festival Rotterdam is paying tribute at its 53rd edition (25 January – 5 February 2023) to the Hungarian director Judit Elek by screening 18 most famous films of hers along with the launch of Judit Elek: The Lady from Budapest, a publication commissioned by the festival.

Celebrating her 85th birthday in 2023, Hungarian film director JuditElek’s eighteen most famous works are presented atInternational Film Festival Rotterdam, along with the festival’s publication,JuditElek: The Lady from Budapest.

The Slovenian Film Centre announced the following grants in December 2022.

TRIESTE: The Spanish/French project Still Life with Ghosts by Enrique Buleo won the Film Center Serbia Development Award at the 13rd edition of When East Meets West, which took place 22-25 January 2023 within the Trieste Film Festival (21 – 28 January 2023).

SOFIA: Projects in different stages of postproduction and completed films looking for a premiere can apply to the Works in Progress segment of the 20th Sofia Meetings till 31 January 2023.
