TALLINN: Estonia’s National Archives and Film Institute have launched the platform Arkaader, providing classic and newer Estonian films. A virtual classroom is planned to be added in 2023.

ZAGREB: More than 40 titles will be screened in 25 independent cinemas across Croatia during the 10th edition of the Marathon of Short Films, which will be held 14 - 22 December 2022, organised by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC).

Film Center Serbia announced the grants for feature films, long documentaries, feature films for children and young audiences, as well as minority coproductions on 13 December 2022. The production grants for independently produced feature films were announced on 6 December 2022.

Until January 15, 2023, you can submit films to the IFF FEBIOFEST Bratislava program via the online form that you can find on our website. Call for entries is mainly for short films from the V4 countries - Slovakia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and then Austria and Ukraine. They will compete in our traditional competition of short films IN THE HEART OF EUROPE for the main prize, which includes, among other things, a cash prize of EUR 3000.

BERLIN: Romanian actress Judith State, who starred in Cristian Mungiu’s R.M.N. is among the ten young talents selected for the European Shooting Stars 2023. The event will take place within the 73rd Berlinale from 17 to 20 February 2023.

The Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC) distributed 202,400 EUR / 1.5 m HRK to five minority coproductions on 14 December 2022.

PODGORICA: Representatives of the Film Centre of Montenegro are currently attending the 13th edition of the Apulia Film Forum, which is being held in Brindisi 12 - 14 December 2022 within the framework of the cross-border cooperation project CIRCE PLUS, involving Italy, Albania and Montenegro.

BERLIN: European cinema has been celebrated in 35 cinemas across Europe during four weeks. The first edition of the Month of European Film met with often packed and sometimes sold out screenings.

After four weeks of celebrating the great diversity of European film, the newly introduced Month of European Film came to an end at last Saturday’s dazzling celebration of the European Film Awards in Reykjavík. Across Europe, thanks to the Academy’s partner Europa Cinemas, flagship cinemas in 35 countries participated.

VILNIUS: Lithuania’s LRT PLIUS and Latvia’s LTV have launched a collaboration, and their cultural programmes Culture Day (Kultūros diena) and Culture News (Kultūras zinas) respectively will exchange stories every two weeks. TVP might join the project as LRT is currently in talks with the Polish public broadcaster.
