The movie returns to Prague crowned with prizes

Prague, April 20, 2011 - Top Slovak director Juraj Jakubisko's Bathory was given WorldFest REMI Special Jury Award at Worldfest, the Houston-based international film festival that took place in April 8 - 17, 2011. This award is the highest prize awarded by the festival and is above Gold and Platinum awards. On top of this remarkable award, Bathory also won Gold REMI Award for Best Art Direction. An official festival press release called the movie one of the "Best of Show" in all features.

Despite the fact the movie had been completed three years ago, it keeps being highly awarded at internetional films festivals, keeps filling movie theatres and winning the hearts of audiences, be it a wide general public or professional jurors. This huge success is driven mainly by the artistic vision of world filmmaker Juraj Jakubisko and his ability to transform his visions on the screen in his special poetic way. Bathory's success also proves that a good movie is able to address viewers anywhere in the world, regardless of their culture, beliefs and living conditions.

WorldFest is one of the oldest festivals of the independent film in the world. It is radically different from the other film festivals by its monumental extent - it has had ten major categories and more than 3.500 movies took part in the competition this year. This makes an award to Bathory even more remarkable; the movie has already been over the main period of nominations but has still been one of the most successful movies of the Czech and Slovak cinema. Juraj Jakubisko, its director, whose movie language never gets old, has thus joined the group of important movie gurus awarded at this film festival, like Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ang Lee, Brian de Palma, Spike Lee, Oliver Stone, David Lynch, The Coen Brothers and others.

Currently, Juraj Jakubisko has started to work on a new project - The Slav Epic, the two-part mega-movie. Again, therefore, he turns to history, this time on a larger scale though. The movie will map the history and significance of hitherto relatively neglected group of nations - the Slavs, and the importance of the Slavonic ideas, Christianity and other history factors. Those who love historical films and the art of Juraj Jakubisko, founder of magical realism, Fellini of the East or, as his American admirers call him, Marquez of the Silver Screen can again start looking forward to a new piece of Jakubisko's art.

Budapest, April 18, 2011
HBO Central Europe (HBO CE) has won the gold award for Best Integrated Marketing Campaign for the Cinemax Brand Recognition campaign at last week's 2011 PromaxBDA conference in Berlin, which awards a commitment to excellence in marketing and creativity.

PROMAX is the world's leading and most prestigious broadcast and design conference and award, with forty categories, five-six nominations in each category and more than two-thousand entries this year.

Entries from HBO CE's Creative Service were in the top five in four categories: the Best Image Campaign for the Cinemax Launch Attitude Campaign, the Best Sound Design for HBO's "El Orphanto" spot, the Best On-Air Identity for the Cinemax graphic package and the winning Cinemax Brand Recognition campaign.

"Winning the Promax Gold Award is undeniable proof of the enormous talent within the Creative Services department of HBO Central Europe," said Balázs Böjthe, Brand Manager of Cinemax. "We are honored by the industry's recognition of our work, which I know will inspire the team to continue to produce ever more creative campaigns in the future."

The winning Cinemax campaign, which ran in 2010 in Poland when HBO Central Europe re-branded the Cinemax channels, was produced by the Creative Services department of HBO Central Europe in full cooperation with the online team in Budapest and the marketing team in Warsaw.

"The Promax Gold Award is a first for HBO Central Europe, I am proud of the innovation and creativity of the team," added Gábor Varga, Head of Creative Services of HBO Central Europe.

On April 11, 2011, Gábor Varga has been invited to represent HBO Central Europe on the PromaxBDA advisory committee, creating an excellent opportunity to bring the central European region into the professional world of Promax.

HBO's Cinemax Brand Recognition campaign was selected by an expert panel of judges using a scoring system based on three separate criteria, overall creativity, production quality and achievement of stated or implied marketing objectives. The integrated campaign consisted of online communication, print materials and video spots for both TV and online. The objective of the campaign was to create a buzz around the Cinemax brand and associate the brand with movies. The campaign centered around a fun movie quiz with pictures and videos, heavily supported by a social media presence, creative banners on top sites, print media and video with the tagline "WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT MOVIES?", directing viewers to the Cinemax branded quiz site.
