Ten projects in development will be presented to industry professionals (producers, distributors, sales agents, representatives of film funds & more) at the Transilvania Pitch Stop (TPS) this year. The 8th edition of the program includes the presentation of projects in front of potential partners and financiers on the 29th of July, during Transilvania International Film Festival.

Press releases 11-07-202110 July 2021 – Polish Film Institute, Independent Film Foundation and ACE Producers sign partnership in Cannes have signed a 5-year partnership to organize the ACE Financing Strategies Workshops and the related ACE Training Days Poland in Warsaw from 2021 to 2025.
The goal of this long-term partnership is to make a lasting impact on the international professional network and knowledge of local producers, and further strengthen Poland’s international recognition as a top, highly qualified co-production partner.
RIGA: The Lativan production company Forma Pro Films plans to open one of Europe’s largest LED Unit studios in Riga in August 2021. The new space will encompass 1,500 square metres, with a virtual production facility utilising real-time rendering, live camera tracking hardware and LED screens.

Festivals 05-07-2021The 14th Fest Anča International Animation Festival has its winners! Awarded films’ themes such as predispositions, destiny, and family legacy freely allude to this year’s festival theme: Traditions.
The main category winner of the Anča Award for Best Animated Short is French film Polka-Dot Boy by Sarina Nihei from 2020. South Korean director Kangmin Kim’s Kkum (Dream) was awarded a Special Mention in the same competitive category. It has already received awards at the Ottawa Animation Festival and the SXSW Festival. The Anča Award for Best Student Animated Short goes to Sanctuary by Eva Matejovičová from FAMU.

Script Pool Tallinn has opened the submissions and is looking for 5 to 6 international projects with the team behind them - director, scriptwriter and producer. Script Pool Tallinn aims to gather film projects with high distribution value in the final stage of development. Focusing on the script and the overall project presentation, the projects and their teams will be partnered with international industry decision-makers (sales agents, financiers and co-producers) whose contribution will increase their sales and distribution potential.
EGF PROJECTS GET TO GRIPS WITH PRODUCING IN ZAGREB

The European Genre Forum kicked off its second workshop at the Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival last week, focusing on production. The third and final Marketing & Packaging Lab, including project pitching, will be hosted as part of Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event this November. 7 projects from 6 countries take part in the EGF programme this year, which aims to boost the careers of future European players in the genre-film industry. Transilvania IFF launches Drama Room, a program dedicated to drama series creation and financing
Festivals 07-07-2021Transilvania International Film Festival (July 23 – August 1) launches Drama Room, a program dedicated to drama series creation and financing, aiming at building capacity locally and within the covered region. Drama Room is open to directors, producers and screenwriters interested in developing and producing series and mini-series and is open to participants from Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Greece, Turkey and Georgia.
The first edition of Drama Room will be a hybrid one and will take place between July 26-28, 2021. It will consist of a series of online tutoring sessions in collaboration with MIDPOINT Institute and a case-study, with the support of HBO Romania (a physical event during Transilvania IFF). The program will focus on providing the necessary informational toolkit to enable film professionals access to the drama world both financing and content creation.

Docu Talents from the East 2021 – selection announced!
Eight remarkable documentary projects in post-production from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia and Slovakia made it to the 17th edition of Docu Talents from the East 2021. Since 2005, Docu Talents has served as a launchpad for a number of documentaries from the region of Central and Eastern Europe. The presentations will take place at Cinelink Industry Days at Sarajevo Film Festival on August 14–19. The most promising project will receive 5,000 USD cash prize in partnership with Current Time TV.
