The Council adopted a set of conclusions on key elements of a future EU intellectual property policy. These conclusions should be seen as the Council's input to ongoing work within the Commission on an EU intellectual property action plan, expected to be presented shortly.

The 18th Sofia Meetings will take place from 17th till 21st March 2021 in the framework of the 25th Sofia International Film Festival (11th – 21st March 2021)

Sofia Meetings is an event, supported by Creative Europe MEDIA sub-programme of the European Commission, EA Bulgarian National Film Center and Sofia Municipality.

It has two separate modules:

Feature Films Pitching – presentation of first, second and third feature fiction film projects of the director, looking for co-producers, sales and distribution.
Works in Progress –  closed screenings  for non completed films at different stage of post-production or completed films looking for premiere.
Screenings are for programmers of international film festivals, sales companies and distributors.

European key decision-makers: producers, distributors, representatives of the film markets, sales companies, film funds, TV buyers and other film professionals from Europe and the region, as well as representatives of the key film festivals, are expected to attend the event. Besides the main programmes, we offer workshops, panels, presentations, Europe Distribution and Europa Cinemas workshop on audience development and many informal events.

Due to the situation we found ourselves in, Animateka will take place online between 30.11. and 9.12.2020, but this does not mean that the programme will be curtailed, as this year it is as diverse and as high quality as it was in previous years.

The programme counts 338 shorts and 9 features, and we are pleased that a great number of films will be available worldwide. We will be able to see 7  feature films and 252 animated short films at the online festival, of which 2 feature films and 225 short films will be available worldwide. The rest will be shown in cinemas when the situation will allow it.
